Now that you’ve given your iPhone a breath of fresh air with iOS 7, why not try something besides the old standby email apps? Along with a new interface, the recently overhauled Dispatch now includes background mail-fetching, alias support and even a multi-field search function. Four other features are explained in a post on the developer’s blog, and with version 1.2, Dispatch is approaching the point where you could think about ditching your old mail app. The two-man dev team promises more updates are in the works, but can’t commit to when we’ll see them, of course.

Sharp has just made their Sharp 4K Ultra HD LED TV available to the masses, and they are asking a cool $7,500 a pop for it. Just so that you know, the Sharp 4K Ultra HD LED TV comes with a catalog of bragging rights, including being the first THX 4K Certified TV and only 70″ Class Ultra HD TV in the world, at least for the time being until some other company decides to roll out something larger and better.

Just what kind of performance do you expect from a monster like this? For starters, you will be able to enjoy four times the pixel resolution of high definition and Sharp’s proprietary Revelation 4K Upscaler, making sure that whatever you watch on the AQUOS 4K Ultra HD LED TV, it will look as though it is sharper, more realistic, and of course, more stunning. Sharp claims that “everything you watch on the AQUOS 4K Ultra HD LED TV, regardless of whether or not it is native 4K (3840 x 2160) content, can be seen in 4K detail.” Hmmm, this would mean the actors and actresses being filmed had better start taking good care of their skin so that their complexion would not show up with all the flaws!

With an integrated Revelation 4K Upscaler, it is capable of converting all content into 4K resolution. It does so by using a dual-core processor that fine-tunes the original signal for optimal picture quality, followed by analyzing and intelligently enhancing the content to create a 4K image. Just like the PlayStation Portable before it, the PlayStation Vita comes in iterations. There’s the standard, original Vita, and then there’s the new, even nicer version. Sony unveiled that new iteration recently at a Japanese event, and we got our first hands-on with it today at Tokyo Game Show 2013. So, what’s different? Not too much. As it turns out, it’s still a Vita.

The good news is that it’s a far lighter, more comfy version of the Vita you already know and (maybe) love. Rounded edges make holding the Vita distinctly less abrasive — the sharper angles on the original Vita were pretty from a design perspective, but not so much from an ergonomic standpoint. The buttons have been rejiggered as well, with a solid click for each (the start / select / PS Home buttons are also all now circles instead of ovals). And hey, the micro-USB port for charging is an unbelievably welcome addition. Gone are the days of your proprietary Vita charging cable (though there’s still a port for it as well, should you refuse to change).

And that’s not the only ergonomic improvement: the new Vita is dramatically lighter than its predecessor, making it all the easier to take on-the-go. We’re told that its battery life is also much improved, but we’ve yet to see that play out in real life, so we’ll reserve judgment for now.

With 3- and 5-year-old boys at home, Amy Poehler has no shortage of new funny material. For example, on Tuesday, she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and shared a few of her kindergartner Archie’s recent one-liners. (“We’re made out of meat!” “What does furniture mean?”)

But with Abel, Poehler’s younger son, the way he talks cracks her up even more than what he says. “Abel is so cute. He’s got red hair and a lisp which is just a jackpot for me,” she told Kimmel. So while some parents are sentimental about their toddlers saying words such as “lello” and “amnimals,” Poehler enjoys hearing Abel mispronounce things like … “spicy salsa.” Naturally, she’ll go to great lengths to get him to say it too.
