Hawkeye Crime Surveillance System Tested, Proves Effective

Hawkeye Crime Surveillance System Tested, Proves EffectiveRemember the “eye in the sky” idea, where satellites are powerful enough to keep track of every single person on earth, with street cameras helping it keep track of our movement, coming in and going out? Well, it seems that such an idea is about to be realized soon, where such a surveillance system has already been flying above America’s cities, being able to look out for crime round the clock – sounds like something Bruce Wayne/Batman would love to have.

KiraVan Custom-Made Camper Van Costs Millions

KiraVan Custom Made Camper Van Costs Millions61 year old Bran Ferren has spent millions to custom make the KiraVan, aptly named considering this is a gift for his daughter who is named Kira, and Kira will be able to enjoy her travels on her very own pop tent that is located on top of the truck. The father and daughter pair intend to travel across America and eventually, the world in KiraVan.

The KiraVan has been called the ultimate recreational vehicle, where it will come with an office, a kitchen, bedrooms as well as its very own motorbike and drone, now how about that? It seems to be more like something out of a James Bond movie than anything else. The KiraVan was a labor of love that has taken a long time to come into existence, where this humongous six-wheeled vehicle is more than capable of driving down mud-swamped roads, and even rock covered roads, courtesy of Kevlar reinforced tyres.

It has enough supplies within to travel up to 2,000 miles without having to stop by and resupply, and it boasts of a special suspension system that can navigate slopes as steep as 45 degrees. Apart from that, the cockpit comes with a special vibration reducing chair, in addition to the ability to use drones that fly ahead in order to check out the traffic condition. The KiraVan measures 31 feet in length and is over 10 feet high, it is a whole lot better equipped compared to some homes out there.

Google Micro Camera System To Usher In Next-Gen Contact Lenses

Google Micro Camera System To Usher In Next Gen Contact LensesGoogle’s Glass has had its fair share of time in the limelight, whether it showcases the darker side of human nature, or our natural tendency to help out one another in times of need. Well, it seems as though the tech giant has future plans in the medical line after patenting a smart contact lens system that has an integrated camera. Could this be the next iteration of Google Glass – minus the glass? Now that would be a really scary thought, since it would mean someone could be recording what is going on without you knowing any better.

This particular lens that comes with a built-in camera could eventually be developed further in order to assist the blind to see as well as give them guidance. Apart from that, it also offers the wearer ‘supervision’ thanks to the ability to zoom in on a particular subject. In fact, it is as though the entire Glass system has gone through a shrinking ray in order to fit onto a pair of lenses.

Right now, the company is also working on lenses down the road that come with screen and medical sensors integrated, where the entire project is under wraps over at the highly secretive Google X lab. Smart contact lenses are nothing new, but this is definitely a development worth looking into.

    Instagram Down, And Up Again

Instagram Down, And Up AgainYou know, the world ought to really move on even though a service on the Internet is not working. However, some services are deemed to be way more popular and important than the others, which leads to a slight down time generating plenty of headlines. Take Instagram for instance – this particular Web service was down earlier today, and not just for a certain group of people or in a particular country, but for everyone. I guess this temporary relief from Instagram use could see the time freed from Instagramming to be used in a different manner.

A service status site did point to Instagram being down for approximately an hour, and there was no comment from the folks over at Instagram concerning the down time earlier in the day, before they stepped forward to declare that they are aware of the issue, and are working a solution to restore its services to normal. Apparently, the feed delivery issue needs a fix, and right before lunch, it did seem as though the service has started to come back online slowly but surely. I guess it took approximately three hours thereabouts for everything to return back to normal. How did you spend your time without checking up on your Instagram account?

American Airlines Receives Additional Bomb Threats After Dutch Girl’s Arrest

American Airlines Receives Additional Bomb Threats After Dutch Girl’s ArrestEarlier today, we brought you word that a 14-year old Dutch girl who sent a mock threat over Twitter that she intends to bomb an American Airline plane, was subsequently arrested since such threats were not meant to be taken lightly. It makes perfect sense actually, but after doing so, it seemed that the situation has deteriorated from a security point of view – apparently more bomb threats from Twitter users started to appear, targeting American Airlines, of course.

A number of tweets that were posted were in the same vein as that which got the 14-year-old Dutch girl arrested. I guess the authorities figured out that an arrest would let the world know that they will not tolerate such poor attempts at humor, and hoped that this would be a deterrent. The opposite seemed to have happened though, and apart from American Airlines, the unrelated airline Southwest too, happened to be one of those who were affected. I guess no matter how advanced the Internet is, there is no filter for immaturity of its users.

What do you think should have been the correct decision that American Airlines ought to have taken? Now, if there was a genuine threat, it would be even more difficult for safety officers to see through the “noise” generated by these fake threats. Hopefully no one would take this opportunity to pull something that will launch the world into the next phase of war against terror.

This sense of continuity is a nice touch, but it is no life or death situation actually. After all, you would most probably have a primary device that you use such as a smartphone or tablet, and have Temple Run 2 installed there.
