About a couple of weeks ago, we reported that the Google Chromecast was set to launch in several international markets and that the UK market was one of them. Well it turns out that many people in the UK have been eagerly anticipating the Google Chromecast because according to reports, the Chromecast is selling like hotcakes.
According to one retailer, the Dixons group, it seems that demand for the Chromecast has been so great that they are selling on average one unit every 4.5 seconds on the launch day of Chromecast itself which has since resulted in the device going temporarily out of stock. (more…)

We’re not sure how many of you guys might remember, but back in the day with Microsoft productivity suites like Word, Microsoft attempted to introduce an assistant in the form of a talking paperclip that basically offered to help you do things or could help you with any questions you might have about the program.
We guess it was Microsoft’s way of introducing a lighthearted character in an otherwise serious program and now that we’re in 2014, Micrsoft is looking to reintroduce the paperclip in a new product called the SmartClippy. Of course by now we can only assume that you guys are aware that this is an April Fools’ prank, but it’s still nice of Microsoft to dredge up some nostalgia. (more…)

If you’re planning on getting your hands on the brand new Sony Xperia Z2 when it is released (it has been reportedly delayed), you might be interested to learn that the handset has been rooted and has even received ClockworkMod-based Recovery even before the handset has been officially released!
The root is courtesy of XDA’s DooMLorD who has in the past been pretty instrumental when it comes to various mods and tweaks related to Sony’s Xperia handsets. The Touch Recovery is said to be based on ClockwokMod version 6.0.4.6 and will require users to unlock the bootloaders of their phones. (more…)

Final Fantasy is one of those games where it has a long, loyal, and dedicated fan following, which is why we can only imagine that many fans out there will be disappointed to learn that Square Enix/Sony will only be selling 1,400 units of the limited edition PlayStation 4 bundle in the photo above.
Pictured above is a limited edition console bundle designed for Square Enix’s MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The game was launched for the PC not too long ago and this particular bundle is expected to go on sale in Japan on the 14th of April where it will retail for 45,180 yen, which is about $437 when converted. The game has since been slightly delayed and if you were hoping to see a Watch Dogs demo, you might be disappointed. If you have been playing Blizzard games like Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, StarCraft, or Hearthstone and were wondering why you have been experiencing some lag, well you might be interested to learn that it Blizzard’s servers have been hit with DDoS attacks. This is according to Blizzard who confirmed the attacks on a statement they made on Battle.net.
According to Blizzard, “Diablo, World of Warcraft, StarCraft and Hearthstone players may be impacted by high latency and disconnections during their gaming experience that are the result of a series of DDoS attacks on certain European online services.” (more…)
