Life in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any of the other United Arab Emirates can be very good indeed but the fun can come to a screeching halt should you bounce a check or miss a credit card payment. Non-payment of debt – any debt, any amount – is a criminal offense in the UAE and rather than face the music an astonishing number of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and other high-end car owners park their pricy rides at the airport and hop on an outbound jet, never to return.
Not all cosplay has to be complicated or difficult to wear. Case in point, this awesome replica of one of the beach shirts worn by Dragon Ball‘s resident pervert Master Roshi. Now all you need is a pair of red-framed sunglasses, a bald head, a white beard and a turtle shell. Not complicated at all.
Kamehamehead on to Cospa and order the shirt for ¥10,260 (~$100 USD).

No, despite the title above, the Butterfleye is no Transformer that remains in hiding secretly until the time is ripe to reveal itself to the world. The Butterfleye is no ordinary surveillance camera, but it also doubles up as a home monitoring camera. In other words, the Butterfleye offers a whole lot more than vanilla security lookouts, as it also does its bit to record whatever goes on in your life.
Taking a road that would be familiar with Dropcam owners, the Butterfleye happens to be a kind of camera which is set up in order to leave your home with “eyes”, so that you can check out whatever’s going on remotely on your tablet or smartphone – as long as there is a decent Internet connection, of course.
The Butterfleye will be able to capture 1920 x 1080 resolution video thanks to its wide-angle 3 MP lens, in addition to operating sans wires courtesy of having the smart camera system shuts down whenever everything around remains dormant. Sensors, video analysis software, and learning algorithms will work in tandem to figure out just when to record upon detecting the presence of a human in the room, saving battery life in the long run as well.
The Butterfleye is on pre-order for $200 a pop, as it ships earlier next year although there are some whispers of a possible fall 2014 release, too.

If you happen to reside in China and own one of the following two smartphones – the Oppo Find 7 and the Oppo Find 7a, then chances are you might be one of those folks who have seen the display on your smartphone change its color. In fact, this is no small issue, as it has grown to a sizeable “monster” so much so that Oppo has stepped forward to address it in an official statement. Oppo has acknowledged that customers currently experience a couple of issues with the handsets. Firstly, the Find 7a’s display looks to have a tinge of yellow at the bottom edge which is attributed to the uneven distribution of the light along the panel’s surface.
Secondly, the Oppo Find 7’s QHD display has issues too, as owners of the smartphone have complained that this flagship model’s display colors lean too heavily on the yellow side. While Oppo is more than ready to test and replace your Oppo Find 7a if it is found to be defective in this manner, the Find 7’s issues have been touted to be resolved in an earlier software update. What do you think of all that has happened? It is nice to see Oppo stand up and make themselves count.

Have you watched X-Men: Days of Future Past in the cinemas already? It is definitely worth checking out, especially the way the sentinels work and function. Well, I suppose it is somewhat similar to the scene in Transformers: Age of Extinction trailer, where Stanley Tucci’s character proclaimed that the Transformer’s techno-organic material is one of science’s most important discoveries. Well, what if tiny robotic modules around your home would work in a similar manner? This is what the Roombots are all about.
The Roombots happen to be the brainchild of Swiss researchers who intend to develop reconfigurable robotic modules which will be able to connect with one another, enabling them to form just about any kind or type of furniture, and even change their shape as and when required. For instance, once you’re done eating on the dining table, have it “transform” into a coffee table for use in the living room.
These self-assembling Roombots happen to band together in order to form static furniture, where they are attached to one another using various connectors that allows them to take on the desired form factor. The ultimate goal? To create self-assembling interactive furniture which is capable of being used in various ways.
