That, dear readers, is where you’ll be able to find the FCC label on your brand new HTC Flyer — well, assuming you decide to get in on the company’s 7-inch dose of Android, and also assuming that HTC ever decides to actually release the thing in the US. We assume it does, as the machine has just been given the blessing of the FCC. This looks to be a WiFi-only model, also tested for BlueTooth compliance, but lacking 3G. So, if you got your pre-order in last week know that there’s at least nothing federal standing between you and your $499 aluminum slice of Gingerbread, which we’re still hoping will ship before the spring is through.

Samsung seems to be killing time until it finally ships the Galaxy S II by making promo videos for its dual-core superphone. The latest in a series of ads for the S II spends a few precious seconds reminding us just how excellently thin it is, and gives us a particular usage scenario where that slim profile truly becomes practical. We won’t spoil that for you, though we should play spoiler in noting the barely readable small print above — “Thickness of the device may differ by country or carrier.” So remember, just because you and your pen pal from across the world are both buying a product with an excruciatingly specific title like Samsung Galaxy S II doesn’t mean you’ll both get the same thing. All that said, the 8.49mm-thick version of the device is ready to wow you on video just past the break. We’ve thrown a couple of Samsung’s earlier commercials in there as well, just to complete the set.

The G2X may be getting all the attention as the current flagship for T-Mobile, but HTC is bound and determined to make sure it doesn’t stay that way for long. Curious souls may be happy to learn that a sign-up page has been set up for the HTC Sensation to update fans on news and announcements. This is a good sign that nary a precious moment of time is being wasted; after all, we’ve got a full six weeks before the heavily-rumored June 8 launch, and there’s an abundance of opportunities for the two companies to get the word out like crazy between now and then. Who can blame them for taking advantage of one of the summer’s hottest devices? Interested folks should head to the source link below to sign up.

It’s been a while since we last saw Philip’s GoGear Connect PMP, and in the meantime it’s acquired a new look and a new flavor of Android. The new GoGear has gone from white to black, lost its trackball in favor of a capacitive touchscreen display, and exchanged the lowly Android 2.1 for Gingerbread. Like its competition from Samsung, the device also has access to the Android Market and all those apps that lesser PMPs lack. After getting some quality time with a prototype of the new device, we found the copper-colored buttons and speaker grill running along its right side to form an intriguing design, but the overall fit and finish — not to mention the lack of a backlight for the screen — demonstrated that it wasn’t quite ready for primetime. Luckily, there’s plenty of time to work out the kinks, as Philips has pegged a September debut for the 8GB and 16GB versions (at $179 and to-be-determined price points, respectively), and promised a 32GB iteration will come later. Samsung’s Epic 4G just recently got Froyo, but it might not be too long before the handset bites into another toothsome treat — a user agent profile at Sprint’s own website lists a newer software based on Android 2.3. We can’t say definitively whether this ED12 build will actually make it to retail phones anytime soon, mind you — our own Epic 4G is presently on EC05 right now — but it seems very likely that Europeans won’t be the only Galaxy S owners to snarf down gumdrop buttons this year.
