Apple VS Samsung Set To Make Headlines Once Again

The first Apple VS Samsung trial received a lot of publicity. It revolved around patent infringement and the jury did find that Samsung had infringed on several Apple patents. The Korean juggernaut was ordered to pay nearly $1 billion in damages to Apple. Both companies will now face each other once again in the same San Jose courtroom where the first trial took place. This trial revolves around a newer generation of products and different patents.

2013 Mac Pro Shipping Estimates Slip Yet Again

Last month the Apple U.S. online store estimated shipping for 2013 Mac Pro in April. Supply seems to be tight ever since the new Mac Pro was released late last year. Apple did manage to get it out in December but since then shipping times have slipped greatly. Even on the launch day itself the shipping estimates slipped into February. Now the online store lists shipping availability between 5-6 weeks, pushing deliveries well into May.

Apple Said To Be Looking To Bring Display Chip Design Mostly In-House

Apple Patent Describes iPhone With Bayonet Camera Lens Mount

In the past we have seen Apple patents which seems to suggest that Apple could be toying with the idea of removable camera lenses on its iPhone, where it would be possible for users to swap lenses much like they would on a digital camera.

Now thanks to a recently discovered patent, it would seem like Apple has spent quite a bit of time thinking about such a setup. According to the latest patent, it talks about how the iPhone could sport a bayonet mount in which various lenses could be mounted. In fact the bayonet lens mount is one of the more commonly used mechanisms in modern photography, so it would not necessarily be a reinvention of the wheel. (more…)

5.5 inch iPhone Reportedly Delayed, 4.7 inch Model To Launch Instead [Rumor] We have heard the rumors about how Apple plans on launching two iPhones this year. One of them is allegedly a 4.7-inch iPhone and the other could be a 5.5-inch iPhone. However according to a recent report from Reuters, it seems that new information has suggested that Apple could only be launching one iPhone, the 4.7-inch model.

Apparently this is due to issues with the 5.5-inch model where there are difficulties with the in-cell production technology. It is expected that the 5.5-inch model could instead be delayed several months and launched after the 4.7-inch model which is expected to take place this fall. (more…)
