The iPhone is probably one of the more desired smartphones in the world at the moment, and despite what its critics and detractors have to say about it, they have to admit that it is true to a certain level. What this also means is that carriers are more than happy, for the most part, to offer the phone on their network.

However getting the iPhone onto a network isn’t as simple as placing an order with Apple. In fact based on what we have heard in the past from carriers, usually this means buying a certain amount of phones from Apple as well as agreeing to some of Apple’s demands, like no installing of carrier bloatware on the iPhone. iOS 7.1 was released earlier this week much to the delight of iOS users around the world who have been seeing and hearing good things about the update. The update will bring about several changes, improvements, and UI tweaks to the iOS 7 platform, which is why it is understandable that there many out there looking forward to it.

In fact last we heard, iOS 7.1 even did a good job at giving the iPhone 4 a new lease on life. It seems that prior to the update, iOS 7 basically rendered the iPhone 4 pretty slow due to all the different animations and new graphics, but the update changed it and made the phone usable again. While Samsung and Apple have been duking it out at courts over the past few years concerning the various patent infringements that one has accused the other of, along comes ZiiLabs. ZiiLabs has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the United States against both Samsung and Apple, where the lawsuit claims that selected devices from Samsung (which will include the many Galaxy branded handsets, tablets as well as laptops) and Apple (which will comprise of various iPhone and iPad models, the iMac and MacBook Pro) have actually infringed upon a number of ZiiLabs patents.

Earlier this month, Apple announced CarPlay which was basically a rebranding of iOS in the Car. Apple also announced several new partners that would be including the CarPlay feature in their vehicle models, and Toyota was one of them.

However according to Apple’s website, Toyota has been listed as being a partner for future models, versus brands like Ferrari, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo who are expected to debut vehicles with CarPlay later this year.
