Dexim Intros Super Juice Case

DCA224-1.jpg

It’s a case, it’s a power supply, and it has a kickstand. There’s so much to love in the Dexim Super Juice Power Case for the iPhone 4. The case hides a lithium polymer battery that can extend your talk time by 6 hours, your video or game time by 10 hours, and your audio playing time by 40 hours. It comes with a micro USB cable that lets you charge while you synchronize the data with your Windows or Mac PC.

It’s also a handy case if you’re just watching videos. The included kickstand will hold your iPhone 4 at just the right angle. Dexim isn’t revealing the price right now, but the site says Dexim gear can be found at a Target, AT&T, or Brookstone stores.

Case-Mate Offers Fuel for iPhone 4

Case-MateFuelLite.jpgGood news for iPhone 4 owners who manage to drain their battery everyday: Case-mate has expanded its line of charging cases to the iPhone 4. The designs have been updated, too, so they’re now more attractive than the last time we looked at them. The iPhone 4 Fuel Lite provides up to 4 additional hours of talk time, up to five hours of video, or up to 240 hours of standby. It lists for $59.99.

If that’s not enough power for you, look to the iPhone 4 Fuel Max. This charging case offers up to 9 hours of talk time, up to 10 hours of video, or up to 300 hours of standby. It lists for $99.99. Both cases charge with an included USB cord and include a screen protection kit.

Sprint’s ZTE Peel embracing your iPod touch sans contract on November 14th?

Still clinging on to your iPod touch in the hope that Sprint will one day launch an iPhone? Well, it’s rather early to make a call, but news has it that we may get the next best thing very soon. According to our buddies over at BGR, the ZTE Peel that we saw a little while back is apparently hitting Sprint on November 14th, which is merely a week from today. Sadly, no one knows yet how much this 3G router case will cost, but both BGR and our own sources have confirmed that it’ll be available on a contract-free 1GB data plan for $29.99 per month. Meanwhile, you may consider the Apple Peel 520 that can actually turn your jailbroken iPod touch into a phone, or grab yourself an Overdrive and duct tape for some hot WiMAX Skype action.

[Thanks, Delon H.]

Case Contest Celebrates Urban Living

case-mate-contest.jpgCase-Mate already allows people to design their own custom device cases. Now you can win $1,000 by designing a great one. Case-Mate is partnering with BlackBooks for “The City Is Your Canvas Contest.” The winner will have their work incorporated into a suite of creative assets, which shoppers can then use to create their own unique case. You need to make a finished design, it seems, but also tools for mash-ups.

To win the contest, you’ll need to think about what “the city” means to a modern artist. The winner will need to provide 20 to 25 vector assets (of which 2 to 4 are “spray can elements,” 2 to 4 are predesigned cases, 4 to 6 are background colors, and 4 to 6 are colorize colors. To enter, however, you’ll only need to submit 1 to 3 pieces of visual art. The contest ends December 31, and the winner gets $1,000, plus an unspecified percentage of the revenue for cases sold. It could be a good way to get your work noticed.

Ballistic Offers Slim, Durable Protection for iPhone 4

BallisticSG.jpg

Smartphones take a lot of abuse, so you might as well have yours wrapped in the new Ballistic SG case. SG stands for shell gel, and this case is meant for iPhone 4 owners who want a slim case that can withstand some shocks. The outer layer of this case is made of soft thermoplastic polyurethane for shock absorption. This layer is co-molded to the middle layer, which is made of tough impact-resistant polycarbonate. These two combine to create a strong shell.

The inner layer is made of soft silicone, with “ballistic corners” to absorb the shock of a drop. You can get one at an AT&T store or the Ballistic Web site for $29.99. It comes in black/black or black/red.

Minimalist.jpg

We first covered TRTL’s eco-friendly Minimalist 4 iPhone case a month-and-a-half ago, and now it’s finally shipping. The Minimalist 4 is a wallet substitute and a supremely slim case. It offers a money holder that can store up to three ID or credit cards while still remaining slim. It’s eco-friendly because it’s made of 100 percent recycled plastic.

Made of the same recycled plastic is the TRTL Stand 4 case (shown here), which props up your phone either vertically or horizontally. If you’re into FaceTime video chats, you’ll love this one. It can even work as a stabilizing tripod for taking photos. Both cases are finally available and both list for $34.99.

Adonit Writer adds one more option to the iPad folio + keyboard barrage

We weren’t too fond of the AIDACASE KeyCase Folio, but we should’ve known a flood of alternatives would be hitting the market shortly thereafter. Adonit dropped us a line to say that its rival is in the final stages of production and should be ready to order by Christmas, and while the final edition will add a lot of polish, there’s a gallery of pre-pro shots just below for your perusal. The Writer iPad folio + keyboard combines a Bluetooth keyboard with a case, and the board itself slides on a magnet for maximum positioning awesomeness. There’s also a quick iPad release, auto-keyboard sleep function and an exterior that’ll look far sexier than what you’re seeing here. Hit the source link to be alerted when it goes on sale, and as for pricing, expect to part ways with $120 or so. Or $420 when combined with a Colorware Grip for iPad.

How About a Case for that MacBook Air?

ipadcache2.jpgWell, that didn’t take long. Tom Bihn, maker of gorgeous laptop and travel bags, has already announced a sleeve just for the 11-inch Apple MacBook Air. Called the Cache, it’s something that was already in production for the iPad, but the company is making a small modification for this new size laptop. It offers ¼-inch thick foam padding laminated with an exterior of four-ply Taslan and an interior of brushed tricot.

If you’re opting for the larger MacBook Air, Tom Bihn can sell you a Cache for that model, too. The slip case comes in a 13-inch size, as well. All cases come with a lifetime guarantee and are made in Seattle. The 11-inch model lists for $30 and will ship in early November.

Grip-Ez: ‘Brass’ Knuckles forYour Smartphone

grip_ez.jpgLet’s face it – a good smartphone is not cheap. And, like the new iPhone which is covered both sides with glass, if dropped, you’re hard-earned money can quickly go down the drain. Thanks to the Grip-Ez, you can keep a firm grip on your phone, while also looking like a mobster.

The Grip-Ez, which looks like a pair of brass knuckles – except for cheap, and plastic -, folds down, making it pocket-friendly when not in use. For only $10, plus free shipping, the Grip-Ez sticks to the back of your phone with 3M adhesive.

It fits iPhones, Blackberries, and most smartphones. According to the Grip-Ez site, it’s doctor-recommended to reduce hand fatigue, and has a sleek and ergonomic design. Of course, you’ll have to learn how to text and do everything one-handed, since your other hand will be in the Grip-Ez. But, at least you know you won’t drop it!

Now you can say, “You talkin’ to me?” with confidence.
