In the world of digital cameras, there are many different kinds of models to choose from. Well, Samsung has come up with another model for the masses which will hopefully, be able to do extremely well in the market when it arrives. We are talking about the Samsung NX30, which will boast of a 20.3MP APS-C CMOS Sensor that sports a 1/8000 second shutter speed, as well as 9 frame per seconds (FPS) Continuous Shooting function. Apart from that, it will also sport a 3” Super AMOLED Swivel and Touch Display that lets it move from side to side up to 180 degrees, in addition to upward and downward up to 270 degrees.

The Samsung NX30 claims to be able to capture high quality images with rich color, and all shots are captured with sharp detail and intense colors, thanks to the large sensor which makes it ideal for creating rich images with dramatic foreground and background blur. Apart from that, there is also the Samsung NX AF System II which will offer fast and accurate auto focusing, ensuring that this new model will be able to pick up all of those precious moments, including fast-moving scenes and subjects, so that none of those woven memories will be missed but rather, captured for posterity.

Apart from the usual brouhaha, the Samsung NX30 will also feature modern day connectivity options, where NFC and Wi-Fi capabilities have been built in to offer the next-generation of connectivity. There is also the ‘Tag & Go’ function so that users are able to tap and share memories instantly and easily, as they pair up the Samsung NX30 with NFC enabled smartphones and tablets without batting an eyelid. Take the Photo Beam feature for instance, it allows the transfer an image or video to a smartphone or tablet through the simple act of touching two devices together without the need for any other configuration. The folks over at LG have just announced that they will be offering a new kind of vacuum cleaner to the masses, and what better way to celebrate such an entry into the world of consumer electronics than to do so at CES 2014? We are talking about the LG Smart HOM-BOT SQUARE which will offer a significant boost in cleaning performance, thanks to it being equipped with LG’s innovative smart technologies that will include Smart Control, Cleaning History, Smart Diagnosis and Software Update. Basically, this slew of technologies would enable owners to remotely control the device using their smartphones.

The Smart HOM-BOT SQUARE is unique thanks to its ability to clean the hard-to-reach places in your home. Basically, it moves in the same direction as LG’s ultimate goal, which is to improve people’s lives. Thanks to Corner Master, LG’s Smart HOM-BOT SQUARE will be able to clean effectively and efficiently. Corner Master is made up of a couple of long brushes, where there will be corner detecting sensors that will work alongside the cleaner’s unique shape. Thanks to its angular form and redesigned brushes which happen to be 1.5cm longer than on its predecessor, the Smart HOM-BOT SQUARE will be able to remove dust and dirt from tight corners. This allows the vacuum cleaner to know of its exact location in the home, where it will then direct it to turn whenever it has reached the edge of a room.

A couple of improved Dual Eye 2.0 cameras will see action on the HOM-BOT SQUARE, allowing it to be smarter, faster and more efficient when it comes to its cleaning performance. Capable of snapping several images each second, the upper and lower cameras will check out ceilings, walls and floors, never mind in low light conditions. Such information will then be analyzed by the Smart HOM-BOT SQUARE so that a smart map is generated. There is also a large capacity Easy-out Dust Bin that makes cleaning a whole lot more convenient since it requires less frequent emptying.

[CES 2014] Netgear’s AC750 WiFi extender is the new addition to the growing line of WiFi AC offering from the company, and it comes with a twist: with a simple LED light system, the AC750 can tell the user where the optimum position is in the order to get the best ratio between range/distance and signal quality. It seems to do this by running a simple analysis of signal strength which will tell the user not to place it too far from the router. The idea is to get as close as the range limit of the router as possible, while not going too far and lose the signal. It seems trivial, but without those light indicators, you would probably waste a lot of time with trial/errors and benchmarks.

In case the home has Ethernet wiring, the Netgear AC750 can also connect to that and become a simple long-range WiFi access point. That’s a great way to “upgrade” your WiFi network to WiFi-AC, without having to buy a new router.

Finally, since it uses dual band (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz), which makes it possible to split the network traffic to avoid congestion. I honestly never needed to do that, but if you have tech-savvy kids who use a lot of bandwidth, this may come in handy.
