Panasonic DMC-ZS40 comes with 30x optical zoom lens

panasonic-dmc-zs40Every season, there will be a new digital camera that rolls out to the masses. After all, you can’t be using the same shooter all the time, can you? Actually you can for a fair number of years, but the consumer electronics companies want you to think otherwise. Having said that, the folks over at Panasonic has unveiled their DMC-ZS40 digital compact camera that will feature a LVF (Live View Finder) that boasts of a powerful 30x optical zoom (35mm equivalent: 24-720mm), making it the new flagship for the popular ZS series. This will be a pocket-friendly high performance ZS range which has picked up worldwide popularity for its versatile lens, boasting ultra wide-angle to telephoto and high quality image recording capability, regardless of whether you are shooting a photo or a video.

Panasonic has managed to integrate a 24mm ultra wide-angle 30x zoom lens in a slim, flat body, while the advanced HYBRID O.I.S.+ (Hybrid Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) is said to be able to do a good job in suppressing hand movement effectively when it comes to both photo and video recording.

Sporting a 18.1-megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor and the advanced image processor Venus Engine that features high speed, high sensitivity image recording, it will be able to achieve 1920 x 1080 60p Full HD video recording capability in AVCHD Progressive format as well as high speed burst that shoots at 10 fps with high picture quality. Apart from that, it also comes with quick start-up and Light Speed Auto Focus in order to catch the most fleeting shooting opportunities.

There is also Wi-Fi connectivity and NFC (Near Field Communication) technology support, letting you hook up the camera to one’s smartphone or tablet with but a touch, or to read the embedded QR code without having to find a cable or look for a Wi-Fi hotspot. There is also an integrated GPS (Global Positioning System) that complies with GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) for a higher level of accuracy.

Weatherproof Fujifilm FinePix S1 Has 50x Zoom to Get You Up Close

Fujifilm has announced a new weatherproof digital camera called the FinePix S1. The camera has massive 50x optical zoom and features robust image stabilization. Its lens has a 35mm equivalent of 24-1200mm and it has a 1cm super macro mode. That mode allows the camera to focus on objects only 1cm from the lens.

The camera has a 16.4MP resolution using a 1/2.3-inch backlit CMOS sensor, and its 5-axis image stabilization is designed to reduce shake no matter what direction the camera is moving in. The S1 has a fast autofocus speed of 0.14 seconds and a startup time of 0.68 seconds. That means that the camera can get ready and shoot images quickly. It can shoot bursts at up to 10fps.

The rear LCD has variable angles and a razor-sharp 920k dot resolution. Fujifilm also equips the S1 with a time-lapse shooting function that can take an image every 10 min for up to six hours. Other features include HD resolution movie recording, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a number of advanced artistic filters.

Samsung NX30 camera announced

samsung-nx30In the world of digital cameras, there are many different kinds of models to choose from. Well, Samsung has come up with another model for the masses which will hopefully, be able to do extremely well in the market when it arrives. We are talking about the Samsung NX30, which will boast of a 20.3MP APS-C CMOS Sensor that sports a 1/8000 second shutter speed, as well as 9 frame per seconds (FPS) Continuous Shooting function. Apart from that, it will also sport a 3” Super AMOLED Swivel and Touch Display that lets it move from side to side up to 180 degrees, in addition to upward and downward up to 270 degrees.

The Samsung NX30 claims to be able to capture high quality images with rich color, and all shots are captured with sharp detail and intense colors, thanks to the large sensor which makes it ideal for creating rich images with dramatic foreground and background blur. Apart from that, there is also the Samsung NX AF System II which will offer fast and accurate auto focusing, ensuring that this new model will be able to pick up all of those precious moments, including fast-moving scenes and subjects, so that none of those woven memories will be missed but rather, captured for posterity.

Apart from the usual brouhaha, the Samsung NX30 will also feature modern day connectivity options, where NFC and Wi-Fi capabilities have been built in to offer the next-generation of connectivity. There is also the ‘Tag & Go’ function so that users are able to tap and share memories instantly and easily, as they pair up the Samsung NX30 with NFC enabled smartphones and tablets without batting an eyelid. Take the Photo Beam feature for instance, it allows the transfer an image or video to a smartphone or tablet through the simple act of touching two devices together without the need for any other configuration. Pricing and availability details remain to be determined as at press time.
