iHome’s iA100 iPad stereo speaker system now on sale for $199

Took ’em long enough, huh? iHome’s iA100 was actually introduced way back in July, and at the time, it was essentially the only iPad-friendly home stereo system on the planet. Now, iHome has a bit of friendly competition out there, but at least it’s getting this guy out on store shelves long before the holiday shopping season hits full swing. For those who missed it the first go ’round, this here docking system touts Bongiovi Acoustics’ DPS technology, an inbuilt alarm clock, Bluetooth and support for the iPad, iPhone and iPod via a 30-pin Dock Connector. Too bad it’ll set you back a full $199.

Samsung gets official with Galaxy Tab accessory lineup

We’ve already seen a number of Galaxy Tab accessories, and checked out a few first hand, but Samsung has only just now gotten fully official with its complete launch lineup. The two standouts are undoubtedly the Keyboard Dock and Multimedia Desk Dock, which each also double as a charger and pack a 3.5mm audio output, plus an HDMI out on the multimedia dock — look for them to set you back £69.99 and £39.99, respectively (or roughly $110 and $60). Otherwise, you’ll have three official cases to choose from, a pair of portable speakers and headphones, a car charger, a handful of cables and adapters and, of course, some official Samsung memory cards. Speaker Dock Turns iPad into Tiny iMac

There’s pretty much only one thing I don’t like about my iPad. While the speaker is strong and clear when it comes to iTunes and most other movie and music apps, when you watch films and TV shows in the Apple-supplied “Videos” app, the sound sucks. It’s just way too quiet. Combine that with the fact that most movie soundtracks are mastered to bring up the sound FX over the vocal track and you can see the frustration.

The PadDock 10 might fix this. It’s an iPad speaker dock with a pair of 3-Watt speakers, a dock-connector and a pair of sockets at the back for charging or syncing (via AC or USB respectively). It also lets you spin the iPad 360-degrees, and when it’s in landscape orientation it look like nothing so much as a tiny wee iMac, complete with the single aluminum foot.

As the folks at LaptopMag point out in their great video review, the PadDock 10 has no remote, but then, when will you be more than an arm’s length away, anyway?

ArcadeDock converts Lenovo laptop into retro gaming machine (video)

Dean Liou, the same fellow responsible for the ToiletPC and LovePC, has just concocted what’s likely his most splendorous mod yet. The ArcadeDock Laptop Dock is a half-height arcade machine, complete with a flame job from a dark corner of 1994, a full-on joystick + large button splay and a secret cabinet for a touchpad-equipped keyboard. Put simply, this rig is designed to hold an IdeaPad Y560, and when plugged in and connected via USB, the controls you’re peering at above function exactly as you’d expect them to. Toss on a couple of your favorite ROMs (Street Fighter II, anyone?), grab a Go-Gurt and settle in — a demonstrative video is after the break, and feel free to tap that Lenovo link below if you’d like to vote this mod up above the competition.

JBL brings the twist to On Stage IV and On Stage Micro III iPod sound docks

We’re guessing that we’ll be seeing these iPod sound systems at the bottom of our Lucky Charms boxes next year, but JBL’s trying to milk things while it still can. The company has just unleashed a new pair of iPod / iPhone-compatible sound systems, the On Stage IV and On Stage Micro III. Strangely enough, they look fairly identical, but the latter just so happens to be the more portable of the two (shocker!). The new duo sports a unique twisted base, with the On Stage IV housing four Odyssey transducers and having the ability to operate on a six-pack of AA batteries; the smaller Micro III uses just two Odyssey transducers, but it can pump out the jams for 24 hours on just four AAA batteries. Each one ships with an IR remote, touch volume controls and a built-in stereo mini-jack input for connecting those other PMPs you’ve got sitting around. The On Stage IV is expected to ship soon for $179.95, while the little guy goes for $119.95.

Panasonic MW-20 is a digital photo frame, iPhone / iPod touch stereo, and money burner all in one

If you’re the sort who fancies a digital picture frame and a stereo dock for your iPhone, Panasonic‘s new MW-20 might just be the thing to converge and satiate those needs. The 9-inch frame can display pictures via SD card, 2GB internal memory, or an iPhone / iPod touch via the bundled dock — and if you’ve got the device connected, you can also play music video via the frame’s internal stereo speakers (there’s no indication of any audio out for using your own speaker system, however). Additionally, the MW-10 successor has a touted 15 different display patterns, including some calendar and clock functionality. Pictures taken with a Lumix camera? The MW-20 has a function that’ll group photos by style (i.e. all nighttime scenery). Look for it during your haze of Christmas shopping in late November for — and here’s the part that’s gonna sting — just one dollar shy of $250. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. iLuv’s iMM747 iPad speaker dock keeps it classy, classic

iLuv has a long history of cranking out too many iDevice speaker docks to count, so we can’t say we’re shocked to see ’em pushing out an option that’s suitable for the iPad. It’s tough to make one of these actually look respectable when it’s hoisting a 9.7-inch tablet in place of a pocket-friendly PMP, but the iMM747 actually looks fairly decent. There’s a triple driver speaker network, a radiator subwoofer, an auxiliary line input (3.5mm) and a 30-pin Dock Connector that’ll also play nice with your iPhone and / or iPod. If you’re in the market, it’ll be splashing down in the next few days for $149.99.

HP Slate prototype gets yet another guided tour, this time with HDMI-equipped dock (video)

Remember that HP Slate prototype video we happened upon just yesterday? The owner, who goes by the name x313xkillax on YouTube, is back with over eight more minutes of footage, including the packaging. According to the back of the box of this self-proclaimed business model, here’s the official specs we’re looking at: a 1.86GHz Intel Atom Z540 with GMA500 and Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video accelerator, 8.9-inch WSVGA screen, 2GB DDR2 RAM, about 60GB storage capacity, Windows 7 Home Premium, 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, SD card reader, and a 2-Cell 30WHr Lithium-ion Polymer battery. There are two cameras here, one in front and one in rear.

As shown via MS Paint, the screen can detect at least four fingers at a time. The browser is a bit laggy but does do pinch-to-zoom — again, he calls it a prototype, so it may be better in the final production model. Also in the packaging? A handy dock for keeping your Slate comfy and upright — it’s even got kickstand, two USBs, and HDMI out. But hey, we’re wasting your time, and you’re the kind of person who wants to see this enterprise-bound tablet in action. Don’t let us get in your way, it’s just after the break.

Sonos Wireless Dock for iPod and iPhone launched at GDGT party

See anything new in that picture Sonos fans? If you look closely, you’ll spot some new Sonos Wireless Docks on the table. The scene is last night’s GDGT party in Boston. The device is the WD100 that streams the music collection stored on your docked iPod / iPhone throughout your Sonos multi-room music system. Look for it launch at the end of October for $119. Ocosmos unveils crazy OCS-9 tablet with Oak Trail CPU, stylus stand and removable keyboard (update: close up pics!)

Before IDF 2010, you’d likely never heard of a South Korean electronics company called Ocosmos. Now, their crazy concepts are bursting out of the woodwork. This OCS-9 tablet above not only boasts an Oak Trail processor and 9-inch, 1024 x 768 capacitive touchscreen, but also a removable stylus that slots into a hole into the back to stand the tablet up in either portrait or landscape modes and — get this — a slide-out, removable touchscreen QWERTY keypad with two OMOS Keys on either side. There’s a 3 megapixel webcam on the front and Windows 7 will reportedly run inside, and the whole thing slots into a TV dock with a host of video ports to let you watch video when sitting down. No word on battery life or performance quite yet, as the tablet’s most definitely an early prototype, but the company’s shooting for a working version by CES and a release in Q2 2011, for a $500 estimated price. Here’s hoping these dreams come true, because as far as concepts go, we likey.

Update: Now with close-up pics of that removable keypad, stylus stand and more, plus a few shots of another potential look for the OCS-1. These folks never stop prototyping! By the by, we’re told the OCS-9 tablet has pretty much the same hardware inside, including GMA 600 graphics and 802.11 b/g WiFi.
