Fujifilm’s X-A1 mirrorless ILC arriving this month with 16.3-megapixel APS-C sensor, $600 price
Posted in: Today's ChiliFujifilm is swelling its retro-tastic line of X-Series cameras with the X-A1, an entry level model for wannabe photojournalists worldwide. The shooter comes with a 16.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS, although be warned that this isn’t the X-Trans sensor that made the X-Pro 1 and X-M1 so alluring — that’s been reserved for the high-end. Instead, you’ll get wireless image transfer, a 3-inch 920k-dot tilting LCD and five film simulation modes. Video-wise, the unit will shoot 1080p clips at 30fps, capturing sound with its built-in stereo microphone. The retail package will come with a f/3.5-5.6 24-76mm equivalent kit lens with optical image stabilization, and will set you back $600 when it lands later this month.

Fujifilm X-A1 Allegedly Leaked
Posted in: Today's ChiliFor those of you who have a great love for all things retro, you would most probably be interested in picking up the Fujifilm X-A1 when it arrives, but before that happens, here is an alleged leaked photo of the upcoming Fujifilm X-A1. This particular shooter first appeared on Czech camera retailer Fotoskoda, but it was not too long before it was taken down in a jiffy. Apart from that, it does seem as though it is on track to be the fourth model in Fujifilm’s interchangeable lens X-series, where it will carry along a 16-megapixel APS-C EXR CMOS sensor.
Similar in nature to the Fujifilm X-M1 that costs $700 a pop, the Fujifilm Fujifilm X-A1 digital camera is said to feature a 3” tilting LCD display, integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as a startup response time which would rival the very best of them. There will be no Fujifilm X-TRANS sensor in the Fujifilm X-A1 however, so that would definitely play a role in the final sticker price tag of this particular shooter. So far, it remains to be seen just when will the Fujifilm X-A1 arrive on the market and for how much, but we can look forward to bold red and blue shades to keep company the standard issue color of cameras – black.

Alongside their efforts to court enthusiast photographers, Fujifilm wants you to know that they have options for those with shallow pockets. This leaked image of the upcoming X-A1 hints at a mirrorless camera for just that sort of photographer.
Fujifilm looks set to extend its range of retro-styled mirrorless cameras, if we’re to believe a leaked press release and publicity shots for an unannounced model, the X-A1. The camera, which first appeared on Czech camera retailer Fotoskoda (before it was quickly taken down), looks to become the fourth model in Fujifilm’s interchangeable lens X-series, with a 16-megapixel APS-C EXR CMOS sensor. Like the $700 X-M1, Fujifilm’s latest shooter is said to include a 3-inch tilting LCD, on-board Wi-Fi, and a “very fast” startup response time to get you snapping in less than 0.5 seconds. The absence of Fujifilm’s magical X-TRANS sensor, which has been a big feature on the higher-end models, makes us think this may be a significantly cheaper model, possibly aimed at those looking for their first foray into the world of interchangeable lens compacts. There’s no word on when the X-A1 might become available, but expect bold red and blue variants when it does, alongside the more traditional Fuji-ish black.

Fuji knows that a lens ecosystem is one of the most important things when choosing a camera to invest in. That’s why it’s full speed ahead in developing options for its stylish X series of mirrorless cameras. The new 23mm f/1.4 prime lens is yet another piece of quality glass for the stable.
If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a Van Gogh but don’t quite have tens of millions of dollars to spend on your obsession, Fujifilm has a more affordable alternative—kind of. Working with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the company has developed a 3D scanning and printing process that accurately reproduces the artist’s most famous pieces. Including the frames, the canvases, and right down to the individual brush strokes. All for a slightly cheaper $34,000 price tag.
