The HTC One Max has cropped up in a myriad of leaks, with things ranging from user interface to design to hardware and back all being leaked in an assortment of speculations. Rumor has it that HTC currently has another “Butterfly” smartphone up its sleeve. The Butterfly branding isn’t that popular in markets other than Asia, the first device from this lineup eventually showed up in the U.S. as the Droid DNA from Verizon. This particular lineup might be about to get a bump, with HTC launching a new Butterfly device with an impressive spec list. The HTC Butterfly 2 is expected to be launched in January 2014, it is rumored to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor, a 5.2 inch full HD display and it is also said to be waterproof.
Nothing else has been rumored about this device. There’s no word on battery capacity, camera storage, RAM, OS version, pricing and availability. It remains to be seen if this smartphone will remain an Asia exclusive for a long time before finally coming under a different brand name to other markets. HTC itself hasn’t said anything about a new Butterfly device, so the rumor should definitely be taken with a grain of salt. January 2014 is roughly 100 days away, so the expected release time-frame isn’t that far off. If this device is indeed coming out next year, perhaps we might continue to hear more rumors and we might possibly be treated to leaked photos as well.

HTC has sold its final 25-percent stake in Beats Electronics, cutting remaining ties with the headphones and audio company and making a little extra cash in the process over its initial investment. The deal sees HTC sell its last shares for $265m to Beats, as the audio firm takes sole control of its business, and […]
Global HTC One gets Android 4.3 update, improved low-light camera performance
Posted in: Today's ChiliIf you’re the proud owner of an unlocked HTC One smartphone, you should now have access to an Android 4.3 update. If you picked up a locked device from a US carrier, you’re likely out of luck, but global users can now snag the latest version of Jelly Bean. According to Android Highlights, improvements include a battery charging percentage indicator, boosted low-light camera performance, Sense 5 enhancements and increased stability overall. Check the update menu to see if your device is eligible.
Update: HTC President Jason Mackenzie tweeted that carrier-issued HTC One handsets will score Android 4.3 after the previously announced September 30th deadline.

More HTC One Max Photos Leaked
Posted in: Today's ChiliWhen a particular handset is about to hit the market, you can bet your bottom dollar that leaks concerning the device will start to appear, and some of them would include blurry spy shots as well as hardware specifications. We have seen some leaks of the HTC One Max in the past, and this time around, we have Tenaa of China to reveal more photos about the HTC One Max. Tenaa is the country’s equivalent of the FCC, and it also delivers a new update on what the dual-SIM situation is all about at the moment.
A leak in the past showed off what is located under the back cover of the HTC One Max, and back then, there was no obvious second SIM slot. The Tenaa page also offered a description of the phone (according to machine translation, of course) that “the equipment for the dual card dual standby mobile phone dual-pass.” Well, we are not quite sure what to make of that, but it has been listed as 809d and will offer support for GSM/GPRS and CDMA 1x/CDMA2000 (Rev. A). Will it finally arrive with an older Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor as rumored in the past, or will there be something totally different?

Recent rumors are suggesting that HTC is working on an updated model of the One smartphone. According to the details, HTC is working on a new model One with an octa-core processor and […]
HTC just can’t catch a break, it seems: Reuters claims that the company now faces a One mini shortage due to both “design difficulties” with the casing as well as other, unnamed factors. The site’s sources didn’t explain the shortfall in detail, although we likely can’t chalk it up to popularity. Analysts weren’t expecting HTC to ship more than 200,000 One minis per month, which suggests that any supply problems would hurt the firm’s bottom line. We’ve reached out to HTC for comment, and we’ll let you know if it can confirm or deny its manufacturing woes. In the meantime, we’d suggest buying the full-sized One if you can’t find its tiny counterpart in stores.
