HTC One (M8) Review: The New Best Android Smartphone

There’s a new contender for Android top dog on the market, and it’s the HTC One (M8), the latest from the Taiwanese firm. This metal-clad unibody slab inherits the good looks of its predecessor, last year’s HTC One (retroactively referred to as the M7), but refines the look and adds a lot of significant software changes, too. It makes the new One a great device, and well worth a… Read More

HTC One M8 Mini Release In May Confirmed

HTC has already unveiled and released its 2014 flagship, the HTC One M8. It has beaten Samsung and its Galaxy S5 to the market, but HTC isn’t done yet. There have been rumors that the company is also working on a “mini” variant of its new flagship. Last year it did release such a variant of the original HTC One. Recently a Swedish carrier hinted at the device, and now a source inside a UK retailer has “confirmed” that the HTC One M8 mini release is going to take place in May.

OtterBox helps to protect your new HTC One (M8)

otterbox-htc-one-m8So, you already have the intention of picking up the all new HTC One (M8) flagship smartphone from your mobile carrier (assuming that they offer it, of course). What is the next step after getting the handset? Why, it would make perfect sense if you decide to offer your spanking new smartphone a certain amount of protection. If that were to be the case, then it would be prudent of you to settle for something from a company who has had plenty of experience in this particular area before, which would be OtterBox. OtterBox has just announced their Defender Series as well as Commuter Series of protective cases for the HTC One (M8).

This does not come across as a surprise at all, since OtterBox happens to be a partner in the “Made for HTC devices” global licensing program. As for the OtterBox Symmetry Series, this happens to be a sleek, one-piece case which will be able to balance trusted OtterBox protection alongside fashion-forward styling in a range of colors and graphics, not to mention Clearly Protected screen and device protectors that will be made available in due time.

The Defender Series for HTC One (M8) will be able to deliver a rugged, triple-layer protection which guards against drops, shock, dust and scratches. There is a built-in screen protector, polycarbonate shell and synthetic rubber outer layer that works well together to help safeguard HTC’s flagship device even though it happens to be in the most demanding of environments, all without cramping its style or any of its features.

As for the Commuter Series for HTC One (M8), it will merge a durable inner synthetic rubber layer with a thin polycarbonate outer shell and self-adhesive screen protector. This synthetic rubber is able to absorb bumps and shocks as the outer hard shell provides solid impact protection, where it slides easily in and out of a pocket or purse.

Clearly Protected happens to be a premium line of custom-cut screen protectors and device wraps which will offer additional protection against scratches and scuffs. Their dry application process and bubble-free technology ought to make the installation process a no brainer, and yet is capable of withstanding heavy daily use.

HTC One M8 announced, is new flagship for Taiwanese company

htc-one-m8When it comes to smartphones, every single company would do well to have a flagship that they can call their own. After all, it makes perfect sense, as you would also need to compete on the top end of the market in order to win the perception war among the masses. HTC might have started off with a bang all those years ago, but they have fallen onto difficult times recently, where even the HTC One, despite its strengths, has not managed to alter the perception of the masses to avoid HTC smartphones. Perhaps with the release of the HTC One M8, things might change for the better?

The HTC One M8 is said to come with a high quality metal unibody alongside a Smart Sensor Hub which is capable of anticipating your needs, and it will make use of Motion Launch controls in order to make everyday tasks easier. Apart from that, there is also the brand new Duo Camera technology that delivers creative, professional-looking photos and amazing effects, while HTC BoomSound would yet again set new standards for audio quality on a smartphone.

With its beautiful, durable, high quality metal unibody encasing a 5-inch Full HD (1080p) display, you can be sure that your eyes will be spoilt be what it offers. Underneath the hood, you will find a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.3 GHz quad-core Krait CPU, not to mention fully integrated 4G LTE connectivity and Android 4.4 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice. It will also feature the all-new HTC Sense 6, which is available on the device and as an upgrade from the Google Play store.

The Duo Camera will boast of HTC’s innovative HTC UltraPixel module, in addition to a dual flash and full 1080p HD video recording, allowing it to produce incredible images regardless of most lighting conditions, while there is also a 5-MP wide-angle front facing camera that captures superior selfies without much hassle. Looks like, in HTC’s own words, “the best just got better.” Do you agree with that?

The New HTC One Has a High Performance Mode Just For Benchmarks

The New HTC One Has a High Performance Mode Just For Benchmarks

HTC has confessed that its new HTC One is able to detect benchmark testing tools and throw more resources at them, although rather than fudge the issue as Samsung did when it was rumbled pulling the same trick, HTC says this "High Performance Mode" is actually a feature.

HTC: One M8 Boosted As A Feature For Benchmarks

HTC: One M8 Boosted As A Feature For BenchmarksHTC has been accused of boosting their HTC One (M8) when it comes to benchmark performance, as AnTuTu has included a new version of its popular benchmarking site known as AnTuTu X that supposedly eliminates some of the cheating which has been whispered about. AnTuTu X is meant to depict a more authentic and realistic benchmark score. For instance, as the HTC One (M8) went through the pages of the AnTuTu 4 benchmark test, it managed to eke out a phenomenal 38,815 score, which is ahead of the Galaxy S5’s 34,898 score, way ahead of the Sony Xperia Z2 at 32,768 and the LG G Pro 2 at 30,068.

Carrier Claims HTC One M8 Mini Is Set To Arrive

Carrier Claims HTC One M8 Mini Is Set To ArriveIt does seem as though it is trendy for smartphone manufacturers to roll out a “mini” version of a model that is doing well on the market, flagships included. HTC is one of those, where despite being beleaguered due to poor sales figures in comparison to the likes of Samsung, Motorola, Apple and LG among others, they still have the capability to churn out good smartphones, including the HTC One. Heck, the HTC One (M7) did have its smaller sidekick, the HTC One mini, and this time around, it seems as though the recently introduced HTC One (M8) too, would be on the receiving end of a HTC One (M8) mini.

HTC Aims To Capture 10 Percent Of The Global Smartphone Market

HTC Aims To Capture 10 Percent Of The Global Smartphone Market

Despite launching one of the most well received smartphone lineup last year, HTC didn’t particularly have a great time. It posted losses quarter after quarter as it came under increasing pressure from rivals. It has built up on whatever it was able to achieve last year and has now placed its fate into the hands of the 2014 flagship. Earlier this week the company launched its New HTC One M8, and in a bid to beat Samsung to the punch, it has released it before the Galaxy S5. Peter Chou, HTC’s CEO, now hopes that the company will be able to capture 8-10 percent market share “in the long term.”
