It’s not a bad idea to measure a room before you go out and buy a bunch of new furniture. And if you’ve got an iPhone, that becomes less of an ordeal because you can trade your tape measure for this slick app called RoomScan. It automatically generates floorplans by simply tapping your phone on every wall.
If you’ve ever been in a situation where you needed to draw up a floor plan or recreate a room’s dimensions, then you’ll appreciate what RoomScan can do for you. … Continue reading
There are a lot of things we could be doing with our lives if we weren’t continuously playing with our phones, texting, checking on social media, tweeting, and so on. We could be doing things like spending time with our families, hanging out with friends, or hitting the gym to lose weight. Well if the latter is something that’s on your resolution list, perhaps the ToneFone might be an iPhone case worth checking out.
So what is the ToneFone, you ask? And how will it make you lose weight? Well according to its creators, the ToneFone is apparently the world’s heaviest iPhone case. In an industry where manufacturers try to make their cases as light and unintrusive as possible, ToneFone has gone the other way around and made their case weigh either 1kg or 1.5kg, depending on which weight you’d prefer. These days manufacturers are starting to get a bit smarter when it comes to managing battery life on smartphones. Some, like Samsung, have opted for ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture which basically has less powerful cores managing smaller tasks, while the more powerful cores engage in more strenuous tasks.
Apple, too, have come up with a method of their own which was recently patented and discovered by the folks at AppleInsider. However instead of a hardware solution, this patent calls upon a software solution in which the system would be able to monitor a user’s usage habits, monitor the charge and discharge cycles of the battery, and use all that information to predict what the user might be doing at that time. Those two little glass panels on the back of the iPhone 5 are a little silly. They look pretty cool, I guess. But what are you supposed to do if they break? It’s definitely not worth getting a new phone. Well, thanks to a sympathetic designer, you now have a very pretty option: wood.
China Mobile did report its first loss of annual profits in 14 years (which is a long time), being the world’s largest carrier in terms of subscribers, although they did mention that they have decided to invest heavily investing in its 4G network. So far, we do know that China Mobile has sold approximately 1.34 million LTE-enabled smartphones, where the majority of those were Apple’s iPhone. In fact, China Mobile also did make a similar order to Apple recently.

What if every call you answered, every text you sent, and every Facebook status update you posted actually worked to improve your fitness? It’s kind of a ridiculous notion, but the ToneFone—which is basically the heaviest case you’ll ever slap on your iPhone—promises just that.
Rumors have been flying this week that Apple was going to roll out a smaller capacity version of the iPhone 5C in hopes of spurring sales of the smartphone. Those rumors have proven true with Apple launching the 8GB iPhone 5C.
As of now, the iPhone 5C 8GB smartphone is available in Europe and goes into the line along with the 16GB and 32GB versions of the device. Other than the amount of storage all features of the new smartphone are the same as the existing versions.
At the Apple Store in Europe, the 8GB version of the smartphone is £429 unlocked. That makes it £40 cheaper than the 16GB version of the device, but that’s still over $700 US Dollars. Some carriers in Europe are offering the smartphone at no cost with certain plans. It’s unknown if the iPhone 4S will be discontinued now that a cheaper version of the iPhone 5C is available. The 8GB iPhone 5C hasn’t turned up in the US just yet.

The device would connect to an iPhone or other mobile iOS device via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. The camera could… Read More
