Google Glass SMS iPhone Support Coming Soon

Google Glass SMS iPhone Support Coming Soon

Recently Google Glass was updated to Android KitKat and now the company is working on another software update for its wearable gadget. Later this week an update will be released for this device. The update will finally bring Google Glass SMS support for the iPhone. It will also bring a new calendar application for the wearable.

Android users have always been able to read and send text messages through Glass. The unit first had to be paired to their handset using MyGlass application. Once it was paired texts would automatically be routed to Google Glass. Users could then tell Glass to reply and simply dictate their message.

Even though Glass can be paired with the iPhone, the smartphone has never been able to beam text messages to it. The upcoming update changes that. However there’s a catch. Users will only be able to view text messages on Google Glass, they won’t be able to reply “due to some limitations with iOS,” Google says.

The aforementioned calendar application will be a new addition for Glass. It will display the user’s agenda once turned on to the left of the home screen. From there users will be able to dismiss, send RSVP or change title, location and time of an event. Recently Google allowed everyone in the U.S. to purchase Google Glass units, it is believed to be a sign that the company might be gearing up for a public launch later this year.

Is Steve Ballmer Using An iPhone Now? (Debunked & Updated)

Is Steve Ballmer Using An iPhone Now? (Debunked & Updated)Steve Ballmer, who used to be the CEO of Microsoft and has since retired from the position, should be free from the shackles of the type of smartphones and tablets that he uses, which means he can now cross over to Apple’s pasture if he so desires. Hey, it is a free country, is it not? While he owns around 4% of Microsoft, shouldn’t he continue to stick with what he knows best, and that would include riding with a Windows Phone handset? It does seem that he has picked up an iPhone along the way, at least according to a new Twitter account, @MicrosoftSteve, that has sent out some tweets using the Twitter for iPhone app. In one of those tweets, there was a selfie, with Mr. Ballmer in it, of course.

While it has yet to be verified that this is yet another of Mr. Ballmer’s Twitter account, if it were to be proven so, then it would surely mean he really has taken the leap over to the iPhone from Apple. That would certainly be ironic, since when the original iPhone launched in 2007, Mr. Ballmer was more inclined to support Microsoft’s mobile strategy while promoting the good side of the Motorola Q.

Ah well, perhaps he has made his peace with the iPhone, and is now enjoying his time as a retiree, surfing the Internet on Cupertino’s mobile device.

Update: Several reports have flown around on Twitter that @MicrosoftSteve does not belong to Ballmer at all, but happens to hail from the efforts of serial scammer Arturas Rosenbacher.
