Liquid Image has a new action cam coming out in June. It looks very not-unlike a GoPro. It shoots 1080p video at 30fps or 720p at 60fps. Nothing so outstanding there. What’s unique, though, is that it’ll attach to a 4G module. In other words you can instantly stream video from anywhere. That means your friends can watch you faceplant in realtime. Fantastic!

[CES 2014] Not everyone can scuba dive as this requires the diver to undergo a series of lessons and a test before they are certified, and for those who have been certified, what better way to commemorate your diving experience by taking photos and videos of your dive, right? There are plenty of waterproof cameras and handycams out there, but for a true hands-free experience, Liquid Image has announced their Hydra series of camera masks, which are essentially diving goggles that comes with a small camera attached to the side, allowing you, the diver, to snap photos and capture videos without the need to lug around and additional device. Liquid Image Apex HD+ Review: All Snow Goggles Should Come With Built-In Action Cams
Posted in: Today's Chili Action cameras are great for shredding the slopes and all, but there are some drawbacks. What if it falls off your helmet? What if the angle is too high, or too low? More »
Now I’m hardly what you’d call an athlete, but I’ve often been sucked into a sport because of some of the gadgets involved (don’t ask me how many fitness trackers I’ve bought since I started running). The recently released Apex HD+ goggles, which California-based Liquid Image was keen to show off here at CES Unveiled, is one of those gadgets — skiers and snowboarders can use them to record video on the fly as they zip down the slopes.
But let’s back up a minute first — the Apex sports a 12MP sensor and is capable of recording 720p video at 60fps or 1080p video at 30fps, and users fond of photographs can easily toggle the camera into its continuous-shot mode. Really though, the big draw here is that one of the Apex models is capable of pumping out its own Wi-Fi signal, which lets users stream their first-person exploits directly to an iPhone or Android device (provided they’ve got the related app already installed). Naturally, you won’t always be streaming videos, so users can connect the Apex HD+ to a computer and pull files off of microSD cards as large as 32GB.
As a nearly lifelong wearer of glasses, I had to try on the Apex HD+ for myself. First impressions? It’s remarkably comfortable considering just how big the thing is, though the control block can be hard to access since it’s normally stored inside a handsome fabric sleeve. A small LED is nestled just inside the top edge of the goggles to reassure users that the thing is actually recording (a blinking blue light means it’s recording in 720p, while red signals 1080p recording, etc.)
And what of the video streaming? Quality was generally quite good — company reps had their demo pairs linked up to a Nexus 10, and the whole affair was crisp and largely stutter free. Granted, the camera goggles were within fairly close range so actual use in the field may not be quite as sterling, but it seems more than up to the task of sharing videos with buddies nearby.
For better or worse, CES Unveiled is a thing. We actually find it terribly convenient—dozens of gadgetmakers under one roof. And we found some cool stuff too. Huzzah! We braved the throngs and fried-food-vapors for you, my dears. Here’s the best stuff we saw: More »
Today at CES 2013 the folks from Liquid Image, known for their popular 1080p HD camera options, have announced an all new HD sports camera. Their Ego Mini is one of the lightest, thinnest, and most versatile 1080p HD WiFi-enabled action-cameras available. For more details and a quick video rundown check it out after the break.
We’ve seen plenty of video camera options from Liquid Image, but the new Ego Mini is nearly half the size of the original LI Ego (link below), which is one of the smallest WiFi enabled full Hd cameras available today. There’s many awesome choices like the GoPro, but none are small enough to go where the new Ego Mini can.
Coming in at just 1.6″ long by 2.0 inches high and less than an inch thick, it truly is one of the smallest HD cams around. From mountainbike frames, Paintball guns, inside of helmet, chest mounts and more Liquid Image has every situation covered and we’ll show a few of many in our video below. Check it out.
Being a WiFi enabled HD camera you can upload videos instantly, or even enjoy watching them in real time on your favorite smartphone or tablet. Shown off here today by Liquid Image was full HD streaming on Android with the Samsung Nexus 10 tablet as seen below. Their app doesn’t as a remote control function for those hard to access cameras mounted under cars, or outside during those fast-paced activities. With more than 4 hours of continuous video capture you’ll be enjoying HD video for hours. IT features a multi-colored LED for recording notification, micro-SD for expanded storage, and charges via mini-USB.
In addition to WiFi and HD video, the Ego Mini features a 12 megapixel camera as well as 60 fps 72op video capture. More details are coming soon so stay tuned.
