Nokia Lumia 630 Reportedly Undergoing Testing

Nokia Lumia 630 Reportedly Undergoing TestingAccording to a recent Snapchat post by Nokia, word has it that the company could be making an announcement in time for Valentines Day. The code in the Snapchat message seemed to suggest that Nokia might announce the Lumia 630 which has been rumored for a while now, and now thanks to a sighting on India’s Zauba record, it looks like the handset is currently undergoing testing in the country and could be getting primed for an announcement in the near future, where if it will not be announced on Valentines Day, it will probably be announced at MWC 2014 which seems to contradict rumors that no new Lumia devices will be announced then.

In any case according to the alleged specifications of the Lumia 630, the handset appears to be a budget device and will not necessarily pack the latest or most powerful hardware. It will sport a 4.5-inch display and a resolution of 854×480, which is pretty low by today’s standards as HD displays appear to be the standard when it comes to low-mid ranged devices. It will also feature dual-SIM support, 3G, and will come with Windows Phone 8.1 preinstalled. As today is Valentines Day, we will be keeping our eyes peeled for more information, so do check back with us later to see if there are additional details to be had.

Is Nokia Turning Green For Android?

Is Nokia Turning Green For Android?By now we’re sure everyone is probably aware that Nokia has an Android phone in the works that would most likely see an announcement at MWC 2014. Dubbed the Nokia Normandy/Nokia X, it has been generating a fair amount of interest simply due to the fact that Nokia is on the verge of being acquired by Microsoft, so releasing/announcing an Android phone is definitely an interesting move. That being said, Nokia’s social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter have undergone a new color scheme – green, which many have begun to speculate could be Android-related.

This is because the Android mascot s typically shown in green, and while the green might not necessarily be the same green as the mascot, it is one of the many shades of green which has some speculating that Nokia could be gearing up for its Normandy announcement. Interestingly enough the changes to the color scheme were made today ahead of Valentines Day where Nokia supposedly has an announcement that might be related to the Nokia Lumia 630/Moneypenny, so we’re not sure if the change in color scheme might have something to do with that announcement or if it is simply in preparation for MWC 2014. What do you guys think?

T-Mobile To End Nokia Lumia 810 Updates

T Mobile To End Nokia Lumia 810 UpdatesWhen it comes to smartphones, they are fun to use and of course, make life a whole lot more organized. The thing is, modern day smartphones do go through this thing known as obsolescence, especially when mobile carriers refuse to introduce any more updates to the hardware. T-Mobile US happens to mention that the Nokia Lumia 810, which was announced in October 2012, will no longer be on the receiving end of firmware and software enhancements. I guess it makes sense that mobile carriers offer a smartphone with a 2 year contract after all, as you would literally end up with a dinosaur in your hands after that time period. The lack of firmware and software updates might also translate to additional security vulnerabilities, too.

Nokia Lumia Icon is their latest smartphone

nokia-lumia-iconNokia, the Finnish smartphone manufacturer who once looked as though they could not put a foot wrong in their utter dominance of the mobile phone world, has fallen to such depths that were previously unimaginable – until Microsoft came along to pick up the mobile segment of the company, where it has gained quite a respectable market share over the past couple of years with the Windows Phone platform. Of course, Windows Phone 8 is still far away from usurping iOS and Android as the mobile operating platforms of choice, but it is growing. Nokia’s latest entry to the smartphone market comes in the form of the Nokia Lumia Icon, where it will be a Verizon Wireless exclusive in the United States.

This latest Lumia was specially constructed for those who want more from their handsets and yet do not want to compromise when it comes to just how the smartphone is used to capture all of the special moments in one’s daily life. The Full HD display, at 5” and 441ppi pixel density, is certainly a sight to behold, while the thin and light frame which is made out of aluminum and accompanied by ceramic keys are also easy on the hands and pleasing to the eye. The Nokia Lumia Icon would tip the scales at just 5.8 oz, where it measures 5.39” x 2.79” x 0.39”.

At the back, you will find a crystal-clear 20-megapixel camera that will draw its inspiration from Nokia’s award-winning PureView technology and Zeiss optics. If you are an avid fan of video recording, then you would not have any problem at all with the Nokia Lumia Icon, since it also boasts of four lossless microphones which are able to capture omnidirectional audio in full stereo, ensuring your viewers will think as though they are there in the scene.

Expect the Nokia Lumia Icon to go on sale this February 20th for $199.99 a pop with a two-year contract on Verizon.

Nokia Normandy Gets Priced In Vietnam

Nokia Normandy Gets Priced In VietnamIt is widely believed that Nokia could announced the Nokia Normandy/Nokia X at MWC 2014, which in itself is surprising given that Nokia is close to being acquired by Microsoft, with Microsoft being one of Android’s rivals with its own Windows Phone operating system. That being said, it looks like one Vietnamese online retailer might have gotten ahead of themselves when they have listed the handset on their website and had attached a price tag to it as well. According to the listing, the price of the Nokia Normandy, or Nokia X A110 as it is supposedly known commercially, is at around $110 after conversion.

However it looks like the retailer might simply be speculating as they have put in its status that the handset has not yet been officially announced, so all the specs you’re seeing above and its price could simply be the result of guesswork and could also be based on the rumors that we have been hearing about so far. The handset has been gaining a fair amount of attention recently, and for those unfamiliar, the Nokia Normandy was allegedly an experiment by Nokia to see what they could do with the Android platform, and it was initially thought to be a prototype and nothing more. But as time went on, the rumors started claiming that the device could be made into a reality and last we heard, Nokia is apparently not stopping there.

No New Nokia Lumia Devices At MWC 2014 [Rumor]

No New Nokia Lumia Devices At MWC 2014 [Rumor]At MWC 2014, we guess many are expecting Nokia to announce new handsets, such as the Nokia Normandy/Nokia X. Well as it turns out, that might be the only handset Nokia has in store for us come MWC 2014, at least that’s what the folks at NPU claim. According to them, they have received a tip in which they were informed that there will not be any new Nokia Lumia handsets announced a MWC, leaving us with the possibility that only the Nokia Normandy will be the handset on show. This is in spite of the fact that we have heard rumors that Nokia could unveil devices like the Lumia 930, 630, and 635.

Alternatively Nokia has recently sent out a Snapchat teaser image suggesting that the Finnish company could announce something on Valentines Day, so perhaps Nokia could make several Lumia announcements ahead of MWC 2014, leaving the event only for the Nokia Normandy. Either way it does seem a little odd that Nokia might not be announcing many devices at MWC 2014, but since this is hardly official information, let’s try not to read too much into this for now. We will be live at MWC 2014 ourselves, so you can check back with us then for the details.

Nokia Lumia 930, 630 And 635 Smartphones Rumored

Nokia Lumia 930, 630 And 635 Smartphones RumoredWe have seen how the Verizon exclusive Nokia Lumia Icon was announced earlier this morning, where it will make its way to interested parties later this February 20th. However, Nokia is not a one trick pony, and it seems that @Nextleaks has rumors which point to additional smartphones from the Lumia range that will arrive soon – and they would include the Nokia Lumia 930, Nokia Lumia 630, and Nokia Lumia 635 smartphones. All of these handsets should, barring any unforeseen circumstances, be announced officially at Mobile World Congress that kicks off on February 24th in Barcelona, Spain.

Nokia Teases Possible Valentines Day Announcement

Nokia Teases Possible Valentines Day AnnouncementDoes Nokia have more announcements they plan on making ahead of MWC 2014? Perhaps. The Finnish company has recently posted a photo on Snapchat (pictured above) in which a string of numbers was revealed, “63,0,87,0,14,02,2014” The last set of digits seem to suggest that something will be revealed on the 14th of February 2014, which is Valentines Day, but unfortunately the first 6 digits remain a mystery. Some have speculated that the first 3 digit – 630 – could be talking about the upcoming Lumia 630/Moneypenny that was hinted at back in December.

The Lumia 630, for those unfamiliar, is rumored to be a upcoming dual-SIM handset from Nokia, but apart from that not much else is known. Unfortunately the next 3 digits – 870 – are a mystery as there has not been any mention of a Lumia 870 to date. Could it be the upcoming Nokia Normandy which might get the “870” moniker? Or could it be a different device entirely? The Nokia Lumia Icon was just recently (and finally) announced so we can scratch that off our list, but either way check back with us on the 14th of February to see what Nokia has in store for us as it will be interesting to see what sort of devices Nokia might announce ahead of MWC 2014.
