If you’re in the market for a new camera, Ricoh might have something for you in the form of a limited edition version of the Pentax Q7. The Pentax Q7 isn’t exactly “new” per se, but the limited edition model should tempt those who are looking to get a new camera or for collectors who love to collect everything and anything limited.
According to Ricoh, there will only be 1,000 units available around the world so safe to say that these are extremely limited edition units, although for a limited edition model it isn’t priced too outrageously at $1,199.95. (more…)

Pentax is going to release “PENTAX K-01 Lens Kit White x Blue” on July 25, which is a special color model of their digital single-lens reflex camera “PENTAX K-01″ designed by a world-famous industrial designer Marc Newson.
For “PENTAX K-01 Lens Kit White x Blue”, he also designed the color and the accompanying thin fixed focal length lens “smc PENTAX-DA 40mmF2.8 XS”.
The regular models of “PENTAX K-01″ have been already discontinued in Japan.

Today, Pentax Ricoh Imaging announced that they will change their company name to “Ricoh Imaging Company, Ltd.” on August 1.
Even after the name change, they will still keep both of the names of their product brand “Pentax” and “Ricoh” as before.
Pentax Ricoh Imaging was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Ricoh Company, Ltd. on October 1, 2011.

Pentax Ricoh is releasing the world’s smallest digital reflex camera with interchangeable lense – the “Pentax Q7″ – on July 5. Its body is only 102 mm at its longest point.
“Pentax Q7″ features 1/1.7 CMOS image sensor (1.24 million pixel), ISO 12800, AF and image stabilizer, high-speed image processing “Q ENGINE”.
“Q ENGINE” enables it to start running only 1 second after getting powered up.
There are several functions that give you a lot of options to take good photos such as “Bokeh Control”, a popular characteristic of reflex cameras, and “Smart Effect” that enables you to take professional photos.
