Call of Duty: Ghosts Prestige Edition will include a 1080p action camera

Call of Duty Ghosts Prestige Edition will include 1080p tactical cam

Activision and Infinity Ward have bundled expensive gadgets with the last few Call of Duty special editions, and they’re keeping up this recent tradition with Call of Duty: Ghosts. Buy the Prestige Edition of the game on November 5th and you’ll get a 1080p, water-resistant “tactical camera” with a 4GB memory card. While it’s not clear which company makes the wearable cam, Activision claimed during its Ghosts multiplayer unveiling that the device should hold up against counterparts sold in stores. The Prestige Edition is appropriately expensive at $199, although you’re getting a lot for your money — besides the camera and game, the box also includes a carrying case, a Season Pass for downloads and a paracord strap. If you’ve ever wished you could record your adventures beyond your game console, this is certainly the bundle for you.

PS4 Could Be Released This October 21st (Rumor)

PS4 Could Be Released This October 21st (Rumor)For those of you who have set your heart on picking up the Sony PS4, you will be pleased to hear that another rumor has brought forward the release date of this next generation console, thanks to a NeoGaf user who happens to go by the name of Nealand Liquor, touting a listing for an unnamed Sony console with a release date cited for this coming October 21st. Assuming Sony is not secretly working on a revised version of the aged Sony PS3 or a new sequel to the PS Vita, this particular release date happens to fall within the rumored release window for the upcoming PS4.

Nealand strongly believes that this particular listing points to the Sony PS4 and nothing else, and will hope to be vindicated should Sony step forward and confirm this release date on an official basis soon. Another reason to back up such reasoning is, should the release date be unconfirmed, it would most probably be listed as TBA instead to be so bold as to state a particular date. In the mean time, you might want to know a bit more about the PS4, including the fact that you do not need PlayStation Plus for gameplay streaming and recording.

PS4 Won’t Require PlayStation Plus For Gameplay Streaming, Recording

PS4 Wont Require PlayStation Plus For Gameplay Streaming, Recording

You may have heard the Xbox One’s neat DVR features, which allows players to capture up to 5 minutes of video as well as the last 30 seconds of video depending on whether or not you can pause your game, will require an Xbox Live Gold membership in order to be able to use it. Well – if you’re a potential PlayStation 4 owner, you can breathe a sigh of relief as the console’s ability to stream, record and share game footage won’t require a PlayStation Plus membership. PlayStation 4’s game recording and streaming features not tied to PlayStation Plus

PlayStation 4's game recording and streaming features not tied to PlayStation Plus

Sony’s PlayStation 4 allows any owner to stream, record and share game footage with or without a subscription to Sony’s PlayStation Plus service. That stands in stark contrast to Microsoft’s admission yesterday that the aforementioned features (and some other functionality) won’t work on its Xbox One without a subscription to Xbox Live Gold.

SCE Worldwide Studios head and extremely active Twitter user Shuhei Yoshida answered as much when asked by fans directly if Sony’s upcoming next-gen game console would require a PS Plus membership for recording and streaming gameplay, as well as watching streaming content (such as Hulu or Netflix). He flatly stated “no” when asked about the Plus requirement, and elaborated that all users will have that functionality. That’s a reflection of the current state of PlayStation Plus on PS3 and PS Vita, neither of which require PS Plus membership for media streaming or online play. Most online multiplayer on PS4 will require a Plus membership, unlike the Vita and PS3. In any case, though Yoshida’s answers are short, we appreciate the black and white messaging — something Sony’s rival could be doing a much better job of at the moment.

PS4 Rumored To Receive PS Vita Bundle For $500 In 2013

PS4 Rumored To Receive PS Vita Bundle For $500 In 2013

It should be no secret by now for future PlayStation 4 owners Sony will be using its PlayStation Vita as a way to extend the experience gamers will have with the console on a handheld. We already know both the PS4 and PS Vita were developed at the same time with Sony mandating remote-play support for all PS4 titles, so it doesn’t come as a complete surprise to hear a rumor circulating where the company plans on bundling both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita together. PS4 Keynote Taking Place During Tokyo Game Show 2013

PS4 Keynote Taking Place During Tokyo Game Show 2013

Sony has been keynoting their buns off this year as they held a special event to announce the PlayStation 4 earlier this year in New York City and officially unveiled the console and its pricing during E3 2013. Understandably, it looks like Sony won’t be holding a keynote at Gamescom, but word on the street is the company will be holding a keynote during this year’s Tokyo Game Show on September 19. PS4 And Xbox One Games Could Cost 37% More In Australia

PS4 And Xbox One Games Could Cost 37% More In AustraliaCompanies such as Apple and Adobe have been questioned by the Australian government in the past over why their products are priced higher in their country, even after conversion which makes certain products a lot more expensive than their North American equivalents. While Adobe has caved to the Australian government’s demands, could Sony and Microsoft eventually cave too? If you’re wondering what we’re talking about, Choice Online from Australia  has reported that it is possible that Australians can expect to pay a lot more for PS4 and Xbox One games.

The company has reported that based on their comparisons of prices from local retailers such as JB Hi-Fi and EB Games, they expect that Australians could pay as much as 37% more for PS4 and Xbox One games compared to those living in North America, where the games have be priced at $59.99. Naturally this is pretty unfair for Australian gamers, and while it is understandable that Microsoft and Sony might not price it at AUD59.99 as they could make a loss due to the USD being stronger than the Aussie dollar, pricing it 37% higher seems a little extreme. It will be interesting to see if the Australian government has anything to say about this.

In Theory, This Is How Xbox One and PS4 Graphics Compare

There’s no doubt that on paper, the way Sony’s designed the PS4 and the AMD components it’s selected offer 50 per cent more power in the GPU department over the Xbox One. But does it really make any difference when you get down to playing a game?

PlayStation 4 friends list will accomodate up to 2,000 of your best buds

So it seems that PlayStation 4 owners will have more friends than their Xbox One counterparts — well, you know, in theory, at least. Sony announced this morning, by way of rather chipper Q&A video, that the PS4 will have a Party Chat to call its own, along with friends lists that support up to 2,000 users — that’s double the number that Microsoft announced toward the end of May (though, all said, both numbers are a big improvement over the last gens’ 100-person cap). Good news for social PlayStation gamers, though you might want to start saving up now — that’s a whole lot of extra birthdays gifts next year.
