Wonder no more, our passport-less friend, as YouTuber eurozero captured footage of the thing doing its thing at a retail establishment in Seoul. That video is embedded below, showing off the display’s thinness, but also reminding just how small a 15-inch display looks these days — especially when sitting next to what appears to be a clothes dryer.

LG’s XG1 Chic external hard drive looks just dainty

It’s true: there’s nothing particularly extraordinary about LG’s newest external hard drive, but it’s the design here that has managed to catch our eyes. Available in black or white and with 1TB, 1.5TB or 2TB of storage within, these stylish 3.5-inch USB drives are slated to ship next month in South Korea. There’s nary a mention of a stateside release nor of any USB 3.0 editions, but we’re sure that’ll come in due time. Patience leads to great things, or so we hear.

Unichal unveils portable, pocketable DIXAU DX3 dictionary

At first glance, this looks a tiny bit like a flip phone of yesteryear, sure. Closer inspection, however, will prove it to be… a tiny dictionary! Korean company Unichal’s recently shown off its newest pocket dictionary, the DIXAU DX3. This tiny source of knowledge boasts a built-in camera which can scan unknown words and deliver definitions on the front facing stylus-enabled touchscreen. The unit boasts a microSD card for multimedia storage, and is also equipped with the ability to speak back words to you — in case you really can’t be bothered to read them for yourself. It’s available now in Korea, and though we doubt it’ll ever make its way to the US of A, we’ll keep watch for you. There’s one more shot after the break.

Hello Kitty gets another 12.1 meowgapixel camera to celebrate her 35th anniversary

Can you believe that Hello Kitty‘s turning 35? She sure does look great for her age! Surprisingly this is not the first 12.1 megapixeled Casio digicam we’ve seen outed to commemorate this most special of occasions — but it certainly comes in some of the hottest pinks we’ve seen thus far. This limited edition, Korea-only Casio EX-Z90 boasts all the same features as the regular one — 3X optical zoom, auto-detect and “Intelligent” autofocus — plus those megapixels we already mentioned. Really, the biggest selling point here is the blinged up branding, and we’d assume that makes it worth the KRW 350,000 (around $300) price tag.

MyRacer serves up 5-inch Lisse H10 portable media player

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen a new entrant in MyRacer’s lisse line of portable media players, but the H10 looks to be changing all that with its 16GB of internal storage space and expansive display. You’ll notice a familiar design here externally, and within you’ll find a 5-inch panel (1,280 x 720 resolution), an HDMI output, FM tuner / transmitter, a microSD expansion slot, voice recorder and support for just about any file format known to man. Mum’s the word on a price and release date, but we doubt it’ll be long before it’s roaming the streets of Seoul.

All we have for you at present are the barest of specs, machine translated Korean PR that declares “a full convergence of the future,” and one of those vague, uplifting videos that demonstrates the myriad of ways that its one platform can dramatically change your life — without ever really telling you what it does. iPhone slated for South Korean debut on November 28

Look, South Korea, we know it’s been about four decades since a handset without an integrated DMB tuner or two launched in your neck of the woods — and no, there isn’t an app for that — but just how badly do you want in on this Apple mojo? Following government clearance a couple months back, South Korean operator KT says that it’s now ready to offer the iPhone to customers next Saturday, November 28 for prices ranging from 396,000 won ($343) on a 45,000 won plan ($39) for a 32GB 3GS all the way down to absolutely free for an 8GB 3G on a 95,000 won plan ($82). Given that KT and its competitors typically rival Japanese carriers for sheer technological insanity, it’ll be interesting to see how the average Korean consumer responds to the late launch.

Google-branded phone coming early next year?

We’ve been hearing talk of thoroughly Google-branded phones since before Android was announced — and if you want to get really technical about it, you could argue that it’s already happened twice in the form of the Dev Phone 1 and the Ion. Thing is, those are strictly developer-oriented one-offs based on existing models, and TechCrunch is reporting in a rather authoritative tone today that Google’s just about to launch a consumer phone all its own designed to in-house, no-compromise specifications with signs suggesting that either Samsung or LG would be responsible for OEM duties. Allegedly, the device was supposed to be at retail in time for the holidays but ended up getting pushed back into early 2010, at which point we can expect a big marketing push — but the question is, why? Google had a heavy hand in the design and development of the chunky, geeky HTC Dream, so we already know they’re probably better off leaving the details of the industrial design to the guys who’ve been doing this for a while — and with strong new partnerships with Verizon and Motorola just now bearing fruit, it’s safe to say that Big Red wouldn’t be a launch partner. Our most interesting theory here is that AT&T — which has gone totally radio-silent for all things Android in the past six months — is responding to the probable impending loss of its iPhone exclusivity by scoring a coup on a gorgeous, aspirational device with the Google logo all over it. Given the time frame that TC’s suggesting, it sounds like we wouldn’t have to wait long to find out what’s what.

South Korean researchers devise a safer lithium ion battery

While some researchers are focused on making batteries that are both safer and longer-lasting, it seems like the folks at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (or KAERI) are simply concerned with making ’em really, really safe. To that end, they’ve now announced that they’ve managed to develop a new type of “separator” that is said to be far more resistant to heat and impact than traditional polyethylene separators. Made from a mix of polyethylene, nano-alumina and flourine-based resin that has been subjected to radiation, the new separator can supposedly hold up to temperatures of 150 degrees Celsius and “considerable outside impact,” and it can apparently be applied to all sorts of lithium-ion batteries — including everything from phones to laptops to electric cars. Of course, there’s no word as to when we might actually see the new and improved batteries, but KAERI has apparently already applied for the necessary patents for the new technique.

Headtime scalp massager massages scalps, blows minds

Say what you will, but we love the idea of having a tireless automaton massaging our overworked noggins. And, since human slavery was outlawed a good while ago, our only choice left is modern technology. Enter the Headtime scalp massager, produced by Kinatech. This outsized helmet has an array of 29 silicone balls for acupressure and 34 ceramic ones for… well, we don’t actually know. There’s an internal speaker with the soothing sounds of nature, as well as a temperature controller, which suggests this bad boy could serve as a pretty awesome cranium heater as well.
