Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X1a now available at SonyStyle

It’s been tough getting out of the starting gate for Sony Ericsson’s X1a (that’s the Americanized version of the X1), particularly when you realize that it was supposed to ship en masse way back on Black Friday of last year. Oh sure, a select few have managed to procure one of the QWERTY-packin’ WinMo powerhouses, but we’ve heard far more complaints about “no stock” than tips on excess inventory. Now, however, SonyStyle.com has the handset listed as in stock, with an estimated ship date of tomorrow. Furthermore, UnwiredView is reporteding that many of Sony’s retail locations are also well stocked with the unlocked smartphone. Of note, SonyStyle is offering up the X1a in silver, but there’s always spray paint if you’re lusting after a black model like the one we tried out.

Minoru 3D Webcam ships this week, still looks freaky

In case you haven’t noticed, 3D is the topic of this year’s CES. And we’re not talking about 3D HDTVs exclusively — we’re talking about 3D figurines that double as webcams. To be quite honest, the USB 2.0 Minoru 3D Webcam is ripe for a Billy Mays plug, but considering that he’s charging like seven figures per promotion these days, Minoru is settling for the spotlight in Vegas. The device features two cameras spaced “roughly the same distance apart as human eyes” in order to create a stereoscopic effect, and buyers get five pairs of 3D glasses just in case you lose one (or four). For those interested in seeing even more depth in their video chats, you can snag one from Amazon on January 8th for $89.95. Full release is after the break.

XIM 2 Xbox 360 mod ready for pre-order, you aren’t ready to pony up

Eager to use your mouse / keyboard combo on your Xbox 360? Eager enough to drop $179.95 for the privilege? If so, then you should probably know that XIM’s ready and willing to oblige. The XIM 2 module, which is supposedly plug ‘n play in nature, is at long last available for ordering, though it’s not quite ready for shipment. Seriously though, for this price you may be better off investing in a few controller mastering lessons and using the remainder on Bawls and Cheetos.

[Thanks, K.Green]
