Sony’s BRAVIA KDL-46V5100 LCD HDTV goes on sale

Sony told us not to expect its newest BRAVIA V-, S-, and L-series HDTVs until this Spring, but apparently the 46-inch KDL-46V5100 is ready to roll. Available for ordering right now on the company’s B2B website, the 52.6 pound set checks in with a 1080p panel, 120Hz Motionflow technology to remove judder, integrated stereo speakers, the BRAVIA Engine 2 and an NTSC / ATSC / ClearQAM TV tuner. Get yours on the way now for $1,899.99, and keep a close eye for availability on all of its siblings — surely they aren’t too far from the shipping dock, either.

Update: Whoa, Charlie! Sony pinged us to say that someone pulled the trigger a tad early, and that this set won’t actually ship until early March. Hate to burst your bubble!

SMART Table now available in North America and UK

We heard that the SMART Table would be ready for playtime in Spring of 2009, and here she is, a few months early. The kid-friendly multitouch table is now available for purchase in North America and the United Kingdom, and as expected, it’s being marketed towards educational institutions looking for new and exciting ways to help kids learn. The 230i (the only model currently offered) weighs in at 150 pounds and features an XGA DLP projector, integrated speakers, an inbuilt digital camera to track touches and multitouch capabilities courtesy of DViT (Digital Vision Touch) technology. We’re still not told just how much resellers will be charging, but we’ll stick to the “at least seven or eight grand” figure we heard when toying with one last October. Demo vid is after the break.

Meizu M8 on sale for $440: buy at your own risk

We don’t have to caution those familiar with the name “Meizu” that this may not be what it seems, but we’ll do it anyway for those new to the field. The outfit’s long, long, long awaited M8 appears to be on sale now for anyone with $439.99 and a remote desire to own one. However, we have seen this thing “on sale” before, but outside of a few anomalous reviews, we haven’t actually seen it ship to anyone in the US. In all honesty, we’d love nothing more than for this to be the real deal, but we’ve a sneaking suspicion that no one with half a brain is going to pull the trigger and pray for arrival. Though, the idea of surfing on top of one’s handset is surprisingly enticing, wouldn’t you agree?

Nokia’s E63 NAM now on sale at Chicago flagship store

So when Nokia said “in the coming weeks” at CES, we definitely expected the North American E63 to be available in the US before now. But hey, if you’ve hung in there this long, there’s nothing sweeter than snagging a device you’ve been longing after for longer than originally anticipated. According to Symbian-Guru, the Chicago flagship location has received stock of the blue model, while the red flavor should be arriving at any moment; there’s been no direct word on stock at the New York location, but we can’t imagine the Nokia mother-ship leaving those in the Big Apple hanging. In case you’ve forgotten, $279.99 buys you a QWERTY-packin’ S60 handset, though you should be absolutely sure you’re okay without HSDPA.

Verizon Hub goes on sale for $199.99 on contract

We had a pretty good idea Verizon’s Hub would be loosed on Super Bowl Sunday, and sure enough, the landline killing machine is now available for ordering. MSI’s Wind U120 netbook is go for purchase

The Wind U120 has been drifting around for months now in the minds of undersized laptop aficionados, and being that you’ve already heard it talked up, seen it ripped apart and perused a gallery full of hands-on images, all’s that left to do is break out the plastic. Yeah, we know — $469.99 is tough to hand over even for a rather respectable 10-inch netbook, but at least you get a six-cell battery, right?

Palm’s Treo Pro now on sale at Sprint for $249.99

We begged and pleaded for an official announcement back when we saw this beauty all boxed up, and comically enough, we’re still waiting for that release. Nevertheless, Sprint has quietly hosted up the long awaited CDMA Treo Pro on its webstore, giving those with an unquenchable thirst for more Windows Mobile something to lust over. For whatever reason, this thing is being priced at $249.99 with a two-year contract ($549.99 free and clear), though we get the feeling that figure will be dropping mighty quickly. Let’s just go ahead and call it the Pre effect.

Update: Looks like Sprint’s pulled the Treo Pro page from its site already, so they’re either not quite ready to hawk it yet or we’re looking at the quickest discontinuation in consumer electronics history.

HP’s Firebird with VoodooDNA 802 / 803 now available starting at $1,799

We know it’s a little easy to lose track of time with the world’s craziest consumer electronics show steaming ahead, but today actually is January 9th. The meaning of that? HP’s two Firebird gaming towers are go for purchase. Both the Firebird with VoodooDNA 802 and 803 are available for purchase right now, with starting prices pegged at $1,799 and $2,099, respectively. The primary difference between the stock configurations are the CPUs (a 2.66GHz Core 2 Quad versus 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad), the hard drives (2 x 250GB verses 2 x 320GB), the sound card (the 803 has a Creative X-Fi mini-PCI audio card) and the fact that the 803 comes packed with a slot-loading Blu-ray drive. Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X1a now available at SonyStyle

It’s been tough getting out of the starting gate for Sony Ericsson’s X1a (that’s the Americanized version of the X1), particularly when you realize that it was supposed to ship en masse way back on Black Friday of last year. Oh sure, a select few have managed to procure one of the QWERTY-packin’ WinMo powerhouses, but we’ve heard far more complaints about “no stock” than tips on excess inventory. Now, however, SonyStyle.com has the handset listed as in stock, with an estimated ship date of tomorrow. Furthermore, UnwiredView is reporteding that many of Sony’s retail locations are also well stocked with the unlocked smartphone. Of note, SonyStyle is offering up the X1a in silver, but there’s always spray paint if you’re lusting after a black model like the one we tried out.
