Samsung ships $129 SPF-87H 8-inch digiframe / secondary monitor

Samsung’s been dousing just about anything it can get its paws on with that ‘Touch of Color‘ design scheme, and even the outfit’s latest digiframe wasn’t able to dodge the madness. The 8-inch SPF-87H, which was originally introduced to the world back in April, is now shipping to those scouting a multifaceted digital photo frame. Unlike traditional alternatives, this 0.91-inch thick frame can double as a secondary display (via USB), and the respectable 800 x 480 resolution panel ensures that you can fit more than just a weather widget on there. Other specs include 1GB of built-in storage, an SD expansion slot, 500:1 contrast ratio and a $129 price tag.

MSI’s Wind U123 now shipping in US, U123H and U123T still on hold

We already knew MSI’s Atom N280-powered Wind U123 netbook was grabbing placeholders at e-tailers across the web, but now we’re assured that they’re actually shipping to eager Americans. Unfortunately, the altogether more exciting U123T (which packs a TV tuner) and U123H (which includes a 3.5G HSDPA WWAN module) are still nowhere to be found, but we don’t expect ’em to be too far behind. UMID mbook M1 now shipping worldwide for $659

And here you were expecting this day to never, ever come. At long last, e-tailer Justek has begun to ship UMID’s dainty mbook M1 to customers all over the globe, with pricing set at $659.42 for the Linux model and $765.78 for the Windows XP model (along with an 8GB microSD card). By this point, you already know whether or not you can live without one, so now’s your chance to pull the trigger before Monday rolls around with a weekend full of regrets.

LG’s WiFi-enabled, DivX-friendly BD390 Blu-ray player now shipping

LG continues to up its game in the Blu-ray department, first shipping the planet’s first Netflix-enabled BD deck and now shipping the planet’s first DivX HD 1080p certified player. Yep, the BD390 — which was originally unveiled back at CES this year — is now making its way out to eager consumers, boasting an 802.11n WiFi module and support for DivX streaming from a DLNA server. The pain? $399.95, but at least that includes BD-Live support, 7.1-channel audio output, 1GB of inbuilt memory and a USB 2.0 socket.

iriver P7 ships in South Korea, Americans look longingly across the sea

Sadly, we’re still no closer to understanding when iriver will allow its striking P7 to escape the chains of “pre-order status” here in North America, but geeks in South Korea can now feel free to indulge. 4.3-inches of luscious screen real estate slapped onto an 8GB PMP will set you back just under ₩200,000 ($160), and we’re guessing the more capacious 16GB variant will cost just a wee bit more. So yeah, we’re going out on a limb here and assuming that a homeland launch foreshadows a splashdown on US soil — don’t let us down, iriver.

VTech’s $200 IS9181 WiFi radio now shipping

What, you didn’t even know VTech was dabbling in home audio now? You should be ashamed! All jesting aside, the outfit’s first-ever WiFi radio — which was introduced “way back” at CES — is now shipping. Priced at $199.95, the Wireless Music Hub boasts built-in 3W stereo speakers (not to mention a 10W subwoofer), 802.11b/g support, an FM tuner and an auxiliary audio port. Additionally, it can play back MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV and RealAudio files stored on any nearby WiFi-enabled computer, though it can’t actually get more beautiful with age. Sorry.

LG’s Viewty Smart shipping this month, 12MP smartphone “later this year”

We’ve yet to see anything roll across LG’s official wire, but oodles of legitimate UK sources are now reporting that LG’s hotly anticipated Viewty Smart is making its way out to Orange shops. Strangely, it seems as if pricing details are still being held captive (really? at this point?), but we fully anticipate at least a small premium for 8 megapixels in a phone. Oh, and if you really needed any more affirmation that a 12 megapixel smartphone was in the works from this company, LG also took the opportunity to nod its head and promise one for “later this year.” Goodie, goodie.

Philips announces US availability for 2009 home entertainment line (with hands-on!)

Philips may be dodging the North American sector with its flashiest of products, but it’s still showing the Yanks in attendance a little love on the home entertainment front. Today in a meeting in NYC, the outfit revealed US pricing and availability for its entire 2009 family, most of which was quietly introduced in January. Starting things off are the 6000 and 7000 Series of HDTVs, which just so happen to pick right up where the previous models left off in 2008. The 6000 Series will arrive in 32-, 42- and 47-inch flavors for $799, $1,399 and $1,699, respectively, while the 7000 Series goes 42-, 47- and 52-inch for $1,499, $1,799 and $2,299, also respectively.

While checking these very sets out, we noticed that the factory settings left the colors a bit blown out and overly sharp — though, this practice is far too common in HDTV companies anyway. Nothing like wowing those Best Buy shoppers at first, only to sear their retinas at home, right? All kidding aside, the panels looked superb, and the A-B comparison mode made tweaking the settings a breeze. MSI already told us that its ultraslim, super-sexy, WiMAX-ready X-Slim X340 would be starting at right around $1,000, and now we’re being told that the planet’s first laptop to be based on Intel’s CULV (consumer ultra low voltage) platform will be shipping in April. As in, this month. For the forgetful souls in the crowd, this here ultraportable will ship with an SU3500 CULV processor that consumes just 5.5 watts of power and a 4-cell battery. Now, to find a retailer ’round these parts willing to let you pre-order one…

In case you’ve forgotten, this unit plays nice with Windows, Mac and Linux platforms and boasts a pair of USB ports for adding flash drives and additional storage. Worth $399?
