You knew good and well this day was coming, but if you’re sick and tired of lusting after your proactive neighbor’s myTouch 3G, today’s your lucky day. The highly customizable HTC handset will be widely available starting this morning in T-Mobile USA retail outlets, partner locations and online, and if you’re really looking to celebrate, you can dart over to San Francisco at noon as 100 skydivers take a leap of faith in order to generate buzz, relieve some stress and put food on the table. Speaking of cheddar, you best bring $199.99 if you plan on snagging one on a two-year agreement, and you’ll do everyone there a favor if you’ve already settled on black, merlot or white beforehand.

Empty ink cartridges repurposed as glorious lamps

We all know that those ink cartridge refills never really function perfectly as advertised, so rather than paying too much to have a lackluster printing experience, boxlightbox has decided to repurpose his empty Epson boxes into prepossessing lighting instruments. The simple (albeit masterly) lamps maintain the iconic presence of an ink cartridge while still fitting into the overall feel of an art deco home. At $350, the sensational Ink-Cartridge Chandelier shown above certainly isn’t the cheapest of fixtures, but for those who spend entirely too much time at Kinko’s, it’s totally worth the investment. HTC Hero on sale tomorrow at Orange UK

We may have scored HTC’s latest Android-infused device for a brief window of time, but if you’re hoping to snag one for keeps, you’ll need to jet over to the UK and sign away your cellular soul to Orange. Based on a brief but pointed tweet from a carrier representative, the HTC Hero will be “available from Orange UK retail stores [starting] tomorrow.” The phone is already up on the operator’s website in a delightful graphite hue, and the price of £0.00 on a pay monthly contract sure is luscious. So much for T-Mobile Germany getting a jump on everyone, huh?

HP’s ProBook 4310s ultraportable now on sale, starts at $799

We got a chance to toy with HP’s latest “pro-level” ultraportable at the tail end of last month, and while it proved to be a bit chunky, the specs list is hard to argue with. Available now for those with at least $799 (plus applicable taxes), the ProBook 4310s can be ordered up with your choice of Core 2 Duo processor, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, a 160/250/320/500GB SATA II hard drive, optional Blu-ray drive, a 13.3-inch LED-backlit HD display (matte or glossy), an optional ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 GPU, three USB 2.0 sockets, HDMI / VGA outputs, an ExpressCard socket and even a Gobi mobile broadband module if you’d like. Now that you’re drooling at the thought of having one in your lap, good luck avoiding the read link for long.

Modu cellphone reportedly launching this week in Israel

Take this one with a grain of salt, but word from across the Atlantic is that Modu will finally (finally!) launch its long-awaited, self-titled handset in just a few days. If you’ll recall, we actually toyed with the revamped handset as well as a few “jackets” back at MWC this year, but at that point, no one wanted to share any details surrounding the grand launch plan. Now, however, a report from Israel states that the phone — along with one jacket — will go on sale this Wednesday (July 22nd) for 500 Israeli shekels, or right around $130. So, does this mean that elusive touchscreen Modu is just a few days/weeks/months away, or what?

Toshiba’s potent TG01 back on sale through O2 Germany

Well, that was snappy. Just days after O2 Germany abruptly halted the sales of Toshiba’s 1GHz TG01 smartphone due to an unexplained virus outbreak among new units, it seems as if things are back in gear. Online, anyway. As of this moment, web shoppers can order the Snapdragon / WinMo-powered from the carrier once more, though there’s no word on if retail shops are still keeping their stock in quarantine. Either way, we’d don a mask before waltzing in to inquire.

Sony OLED Walkman on sale now

Well, we can think of at least one 13-year-old kid who’ll welcome this next bit of gadget news: it looks like Sony’s OLED Walkman is now on sale over at the Sony Style site. As previously guesstimated, the 16GB model is moving for a cool $299.99, and the 32GB model is priced at $399.99. Order today from Sony and it ships tomorrow, or order from Amazon and it ships on July 3rd. Either way, it’s time to start counting out your pennies.

Autonet Mobile in-car WiFi router goes national with Amazon availability

So, what does a company do when the two major outfits hired on to install its wares go belly-up? Why, put the power in the hands of the people, of course! After spending entirely too much time with Chrysler and General Motors, Autonet Mobile has decided to give consumers another option for having an in-car WiFi router installed: Amazon. Starting now, those interested in shoving a hotspot in their vehicle can purchase the router for $299.99 after rebate and handle the install themselves, but none of this makes that $29 monthly charge any easier to swallow.

ViewSonic’s VPC100 all-in-one PC now available for $600

ViewSonic‘s probably best known for its LCD monitors and not its all-in-one PCs, but those not turned on by MSI’s AE1900 (for whatever reason) can surely give the VPC100 a look. First announced at CES, this 1.6GHz Atom-powered all-in-one packs an all black, glossy enclosure, a 19-inch panel, Windows XP Home and a lifetime supply of Fruit Loops. Wait, that can’t be right. Anywho, it’s all yours from a number of respected e-tailers for $599.

HP’s Mini 1101 up for order, customizations nowhere to be found

We know the Mini 1101 is the more business-centric of the new HP netbooks, but unless the company has a sudden change of heart, it looks like you’ll be getting the base configuration or nothing at all. Starting today, HP is enabling eager consumers to purchase one of the $329 machines, but the only “customization” options are external accessories and peripherals. Hit the read link to see if what’s offered fits your bill, and if not, the Mini 110 XP and Mini 110 Mi alternatives should be popping up soon.
