Nokia E7 hits Amazon: pay $679 and they’ll ship it when they’ve got it

You’ll probably be waiting a few weeks at the very least — but if you want to put in your order early, Amazon’s US site is more than happy to take your name for Nokia’s latest QWERTY monster. The E7 is running a stout $679 — and that’s not through a third party, that’s Amazon’s direct price for an official American version of the phone with a full manufacturer warranty. Feels pricey to us, but Amazon’s pricing tends to fluctuate fairly regularly, so we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see this fall a bit by the time the phone actually ships — and if Espoo announces the rumored MeeGo-powered N9 by the time the E7’s available, they might need to discount it a whole lot.

[Thanks, adgg]

Archos’ Android-based 70b e-reader up for pre-order in Europe

We have all ideas that the 70b will look mighty weak after next year’s spate of slates, tablets and readers hit the public view at CES, but with a price tag as diminutive as €99.99 ($130), who cares about bells and / or whistles? Spotted first in the FCC’s lairs a few weeks ago, the Archos 70b e-reader is now up for pre-order in Europe, boasting a 7-inch WVGA touchpanel, 4GB of storage, 802.11b/g WiFi and an SD expansion slot. We’re told that the battery will keep things humming for around ten hours (or up to 18 if using it strictly as a music player with the screen flipped off), and if we had to guess, we’d say it’ll probably make the trip through the Panama Canal in Q1 2011. Question is: will you care?

Clamcase iPad keyboard case / stand now on sale, ships January 2011

Surely you haven’t forgotten about Clamcase! Merely 14 hours after Apple introduced the iPad, someone on Clamcase’s staff filed a patent application for the device you’re peering at above. Between then and now, a smattering of iPad keyboard cases have come to light, but quite a few folks have apparently been waiting for the original to materialize. This week, the company opened up the pre-order hotline for the device, hawking it for the not-exactly-bargain-bin price of $119. It’s available in any color you want, so long as it’s black, and if all goes well it’ll hit the shipping docks next month. It’s definitely the nicest of the bunch based on pictures alone, and it’s not like it’ll have to try awfully hard to beat the rivals that have already let us down. So, what’s it going to be? You in for one?

Update: Thanks to a snazzy gift card, it’s just $99 for a limited time.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Nexus S sees UK SIM-free price chopped to £430, Best Buy’s Christmas deliveries not so guaranteed

The UK price for the Nexus S just became a whole lot (nearly 22 percent) more attractive, thanks to the Carphone Warehouse slashing the SIM-free purchase option to a sweet £429.99 ($668). Contract-saddled pricing has also taken a tumble, as the Nexus S can now be had for free on two-year agreements costing £30 ($47) per month. Good news all around, then, but be aware that the handset is now listed as being on back order, having been “in stock” earlier in the week. Speaking of delays, we’re also hearing Best Buy’s guaranteed Christmas delivery — something proudly signposted on the Nexus S online order page — might very well miss Santa’s delivery window. A couple of our readers have received emails from the retailer advising them that their Gingerbread packages will be shipped “within the next 1-2 weeks,” but might not get there by December 24th. So happy holidays and best of luck!

[Thanks, Taylor and Rod]

ExoPC now up for pre-order at Microsoft Store, shipping next week

Been waiting to order an ExoPC here in the US of A? Well, today is your day — ExoPC has just announced that it’s teamed up with Microsoft’s very own store to bring you the 11.6-inch Windows 7 tablet. There’s only one configuration at the moment, but $699 buys you a rather thin 0.5-inch slate with 64GB of flash storage, an Intel Atom N450 processor, 2GB of RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium with ExoPC’s unique UI layer, and a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera. As for that UI, ExoPC just told us that a major update should be coming next week and that it’ll amend a number of issues we had with our early review unit. The slate is currently up for pre-order on the Microsoft Store website, but we’re told it will start shipping out early next week. And if you’re waiting to check it out in person before pulling out the plastic, we hear they should be arriving in all those Microsoft retail locations soon — apparently, San Diego and Scottsdale already have ’em in stock. Hey, looks like Mr. Ballmer was right, we will have Win 7 tablets this “crucial holiday season.”

Notion Ink Adam gets caught Photoshopping its bezel away

How big is the Notion Ink Adam‘s screen? Well, it depends on what time you looked at the company’s site today. If you were one of the unlucky folks who saw the image titled “preordernow.jpg,” the screen’s a tiny bit smaller and the bezel a tad larger than it is for all the fortunate peeps pre-ordering from the “preordernow1.jpg” pic that’s currently gracing the site. Now’s your chance, guys — go grab yourself the truly magical and revolutionary tablet whose specs change with the wave of a Photoshop airbrush.

[Thanks, Andrew]

Update: To be clear, we don’t know which of the two ‘shops is the real deal — technically, neither is, they’re both renders — but earlier prototypes have shown some pretty slinky bezels. It’ll be on Notion Ink to demonstrate just how slim the Adam’s screen surround is when it finally unveils the real deal.

Frontal Concepts’ Infuse iPod nano watch strap wins imaginary design award, our hearts

By now, you’ve decided if you’re going to use Apple’s iPod nano 6G as a watch. We obviously have our own feelings on the matter, but those who can’t be bothered with actual functionality should definitely be looking in the direction of Frontal Concepts. This Australian outfit has just released its first product, and it’s far and away the most sensibly designed iPod nano watch strap to date. Rather than just looping a band through the device’s rear clip, the Infuse strap actually has a simple, one-click locking mechanism to keep your digital timepiece in position. It’s also positioned to allow the audio cord to run upwards along the arm, and it’s built from polycarbonate plastics and silicone — plenty tough to withstand the occasional gym visit. Americans can get their pre-order in today for $24.95 (black, white and brown hues are available), with the first shipments expected to head out in around a fortnight. Time’s ticking, Santa.

OnLive giving thanks to its Founding Members with free MicroConsoles

Have you been riding the OnLive bangwagon from the start? If so, you’ll want to heed this little Thanksgiving note from the company, which is offering a free MicroConsole to its early cloud gaming service users — whom it dubs Founding Members — provided they’ve bought licenses for at least two games in their time. The diminutive TV adapter typically costs $99, but qualifying Members will be able to get it for free if they pre-order it now, though they will have to spring for covering delivery costs. As to the more timid among you who only ever bought the one PlayPass, OnLive will let you have a free Full PlayPass (equivalent to a free game) in the place of the hardware. So, whichever way you slice it, it’s good to be first.
