$399 iPads, fondue sets appearing at TJ Maxx locations across the country

Sure, we know where you guys go when you’re near a strip mall and have to pick up an irregularly sized Tommy Hilfiger shirt, or when you run out of Paco Rabanne cologne before a hot date, but we definitely did a double take when our tipster Aaron sent us these pics he took of a 16GB WiFi iPad that he found at a TJ Maxx in Vernon, NY — and not just because they’re going for a relatively reasonable $399. We made a couple phone calls and found some at stores in Ohio and New Jersey (including one who said they were holding their stock back for Black Friday) while we struck out in other parts of the country. Still, if you’re looking to drop cash on one of these guys, we’d make a quick call to your local outlet before heading to the Apple Store. And when you’re done, don’t forget to swing by Half Price Books and pick up a remaindered copy of A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity by Bill O’Reilly. Get a closer look after the break.

Walmart launches Black Friday barrage early, $69 Blu-ray player, $89 DS LiteSick of waiting outside in the cold on the wee hours of Black Friday, only to get trampled on the way in to the store when the doors open? Walmart has a better solution: they’ll open the doors at midnight. Yes, the sales start at the first minute of Black Friday, and the full list is after the break, but to get the really good stuff you’ll have to hang around until 5:00am. That’s when a Magnavox Blu-ray player (presumably the oft-discounted NB500) will go for $69, with $10 in VUDU credits thrown in for good measure. Or, you can get yourself a Nintendo DS Lite for $89, which is a very solid deal. Sure, it doesn’t do 3D, but who says games need depth?

Remember this guy? He’s back, and better than ever before. In fact, he’s bringing all sorts of good news for digital sheet music readers, namely that the AirTurn BT-105 is just weeks away from shipping. This Bluetooth-enabled system — which links up with standard page-turners and connects with your iPad, Mac or PC in order to flip from page to page without ever taking your hand away from your McCartney replica bass — even includes a debounce filter to prevent multiple page turns for each foot switch press. The system plays nice with forScore, MusicReader, and unrealBook, and the rechargeable battery is said to be good for a solid 100 hours. It’ll ship to Americans on November 16th for the tidy sum of $69, but before you rush away and jot down the date on your pocket calendar, head on past the break and mash play. It’s worth it, trust us.

SanDisk’s 32GB microSDHC card falls below $100, is actually in stock

Holding out on upgrading that paltry 2GB microSD card that shipped in your Android device of choice? Hold no longer. Amazon is now stocking SanDisk’s oh-so-capacious 32GB microSDHC card for just $89.73, which is notably lower than what it retailed for at launch. It’s also readily available elsewhere on the web for around the same amount, with the “readily available” part equally as impressive as the “for really cheap” part. Of course, it’s slower than molasses crawling uphill on a winter day (read: Class 2), but it’s not like you’ll be throwing this in your D3S and firing off 11 shots per second. Right?

Samsung adds two free pairs of glasses to sub-$1,000 3DTV package

Don’t think there’s some give in those 3DTV prices? Now that Samsung’s sub-$1000 50-inch PN50C490 plasma HDTV is on store shelves, it’s improving the offer by throwing two pairs of those (normally $149 retail value each) active shutter 3D glasses in for free. Since it comes with the IR emitter already built in, that’s all anyone will need to get every pixel available of the 3D games on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 or any of ESPN 3D’s broadcasts. Of course, the 720p resolution will give up a few pixels on 1080p Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D discs, but if you absolutely must be 3D ready before next week’s Auburn/Clemson game and only have $1,000 to spend, this is your day. Of course, even among the fraction of the crowd interested in 3D now or in the near future, we’re wondering what kind of deals might be floating around once Black Friday hits. The bundle deal’s been spotted online at Amazon, Best Buy and Vanns, as well as in-store at hhgregg, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble sniffing it out — or avoiding it, if that’s your deal — locally.

Mitsubishi’s huge, modular OLED display set to go on sale worldwide on September 21

Before you start dreaming of 155-inch OLED displays for your home theater, let us remind you that this Mitsubishi panel happens to pack an ignobly low 69 8.5dpi pixel density. So while it is indeed a wall-sized OLED image maker, it’s not exactly designed to match up to the HD rigors of modern video. Composed of smaller, bezel-free modules, Mitsu’s Diamond Vision OLED display has gone from CEATEC prototype last year to a triumphant retail product this year, starting to be exchanged for cash, trinkets and favors this September 21. As you might have guessed, it’s primarily intended for use in digital signage scenarios — which should be great so long as nobody tries to perch one up in the sun.

Woot offers up refurbed Roku HD-XRs for $75 shipped

If you were into last week’s announcements from Apple and Roku but still thought separating from even one Benjamin for a media streamer was just too much to ask, we have a solution that may work. The One Day, One Deal people at Woot.com have picked the Netflix, Amazon VOD and UFC-streaming Roku HD-XR with WiFi N (and a 1080p upgrade practically around the corner) for today’s offering, currently standing at $69.99 + $5 shipping for a refurbished unit with a 90 day warranty, which is the best deal we’ve seen since it launched. Sure, you can sit around and keep thinking over the comparisons, or you can just click the buy button now before they run out of stock, which could happen at any moment. Like now. Or now. Or…you get the point.

Samsung Epic 4G now on sale at Sprint (update: save $50 at Amazon)

We told you it was coming, now the Samsung Epic 4G is on sale at Sprint for a cool $249.99 plus two year life commitment. In other words, it’s time to let Sprint know whether this Galaxy S variant (with — gasp — working GPS) is worth the $50 premium over HTC’s EVO 4G. Well, is it?

Update: As usual, Amazon’s offering a discount showing a $199.99 listing for new contracts. It still shows a pre-order status (with 2-3 weeks ship time) but that’s likely to change any minute now.

T-Mobile offering Vibrant for $99, if you’re quick about it (update: one cent at Amazon)

If the Vibrant’s $200 price tag on contract was the only thing keeping you planted on the fence, you might want to head over to T-Mobile’s interwebs right this second seeing how they’re offering a one-day special — $99, online only — which makes it $100 cheaper than AT&T’s Captivate and $150 less than Sprint’s Epic 4G. Any way you slice it, that’s a killer carrier-direct price for a high-end Android phone with a 1GHz core and one of the best phone displays we’ve ever seen… and remember, it includes Avatar, which means you’re getting this for the price of a few Avatar Blu-rays. Yeah, that’s the way to look at it.

Update: Don’t want to drop even a single Benjamin on T-Mobile’s foremost Android? How’s a penny sound? We’re seeing the Vibrant for $0.01 (and two years of your life) right now at Amazon.

Microsoft Kinect for Xbox 360 launching on November 10 in Europe

While Microsoft’s new controller-free Kinect for Xbox 360 will be hitting US shores on November 4th, we’ve just learned that it’ll officially land in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on November 10th. Sure, that’s a bit of a wait, but take heart in knowing that Microsoft’s targeting an October launch of its Xbox Live lovin’ Windows Phone 7 handsets in Europe compared to a November release in the US. Otherwise, we’re looking at the same 15 exclusive Kinect game titles already announced at E3.
