Just $799? Wait, really? Indeed, it’s quite hard to grasp that the Samsung QX410 costs under $800, and when you hear about what you get for the money, you’ll understand exactly why. The system not only packs some seriously impressive specs — a Core i5 processor, NVIDIA GeForce 310M GPU with Optimus, and a 640GB hard drive – but it’s also got an aluminum lid, flush glass 14-inch display, and is just an inch thick. And on top of all of that, you can stream video to your TV with Intel’s WiDi and get on a fast WiMAX network without an extra dongle. So yeah, on paper it’s a killer deal, but after spending a week with the rig do we still feel the same way? Or do we suggest you keep shaking the piggy bank until you can come up with an extra $200 for the Envy 14 or a Dell XPS 14? Find out in our full review!

This thing is all but official anyway, but for what it’s worth, Google’s now got its own product page live for the upcoming Nexus S from Samsung. Here’s the rundown: 4-inch WVGA display, triband HSPA with AWS support (no HSPA+, seemingly), 5 megapixel camera, NFC, 16GB of onboard storage, 512MB of RAM, available on T-Mobile. It’s also got a gyroscope — as do the existing Galaxy S phones — along with something being called the “contour display” (which matches up with rumors we’ve heard), integrated VoIP support, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Interestingly, the phone’s quoted as having nothing more than a 1GHz Cortex A8-based Hummingbird processor, seemingly shooting down rumors that this thing would be rocking the Orion dual-core setup. Update: And now it’s official! According to the Official Google Blog, the Nexus S will be available for purchase after December 16th “online and in-store from all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores,” either unlocked or with a T-Mobile plan. Across the pond, look for the Nexus S to hit December 20th at Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy UK. Videos after the break.

Remember the leaked promo material for the $499.99 WiFi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab headed to Best Buy? Well, SKU 1409447 of the 7-inch Android tablet is being promoted right now in the weekly ads on Best Buy’s very own mobile site. Unfortunately, our urge to celebrate is tempered by a sneaky pic of a Best Buy “pullback” (found after the break) noting that the WiFi-only Galaxy Tab is not in fact available due to manufacturer delay. The whole Best Buy listing turns out to be an unhappy comedy of errors showing a non-existent “silver” 3G model on Sprint and wishful “Super AMOLED” display. Ugh.

Seems like Best Buy has developed something of a taste for snow-white exclusives, as it’s now become the first retailer to offer up Dell’s 5-inch Streak tabletphone with an alabaster case. We’re hearing the only way to grab the new palette option is to go down to your nearest Best Buy store, though online reservation and payment is also available. Not every store has them just yet, so checking ahead of time might also be advisable. Skip past the break to see the new Streak’s front end — it actually retains a lot of the black bezel of its noir family mate.

Woah, what do we have here? A new “In Store” web-based flier from Best Buy Mobile has this little nugget on its front page: a previously unseen Galaxy S, running stock Android (possibly 2.3, based on the green icons and black notifications bar) and harboring what looks to be a front facing camera. Sounds like a Nexus S to us! Paired with this morning’s little Nexus S slip-of-the-tongue from Best Buy, we’re starting to get our hopes up. Don’t let us down, Google / T-Mobile / Samsung / Best Buy / planet earth!
