Still clinging on to your HTC HD2? Good on ya, cos this WinMo slate’s about to last you a wee bit longer — team HTC Linux has recently made a breakthrough with getting the touchscreen to talk to the HaRET Linux bootloader. In other words, us mere mortals can finally use Linux variants like Android and Ubuntu on the HD2 the way it’s meant to be, although we’re apparently still a few bugs away from a stable release. Until then, enjoy the techno-fueled video demo after the break.

Nope, this isn’t the first iPad mod you’ll have seen, but it’s likely to be the biggest crowd pleaser yet. Inspired by the iCade cabinet — an April Fools’ joke that had most of us asking where we could buy one — this really real arcade cabinet integrates Apple’s slate, hooks it up to a set of old school controls, and lets users go to town with such old timer classics as Mr. Do! It’s still in prototype form, hence the boxy exterior, but the action on screen is looking as good as you’d expect. See it on video after the break.

Hey, look at what we have here — it’s the new Xbox 360 that was just debuted a few days back — and there’s a lot going down with this one which has somehow made its way into the wild. We get the full unboxing treatment, a detailed teardown, and finish up with some delicious, light-paneled modding. While we can’t really gather much beyond what we already know, the drive appears to be a Philips Lite-On DG-16D4S — just in case you were wondering about that one. There’s a video below showing off this one’s new, modded exterior.

Oh yes, an HTC EVO has been modded with the inductive charging coil ripped from the still beating heart of a Palm Pre. The 30 minute soldering project does have the side effect of rendering compass apps useless while creating a slight bulge in the battery cover. Other than that, it just works — or so says the creator. See the modded EVO get busy with a Palm Touchstone and do what yours can’t in the video after the break.
