TomTom has done a respectable job of keeping its iPhone GPS app up to date when compared to formidable options from Navigon and the like, but today it’s making its biggest move yet by way of a significant price drop. We’ve heard directly from the company (and confirmed with our own two peepers) that the US and Canada version of the app is now on sale for $69.99, while a US-only version is currently on sale for just $49.99. If you’ll recall, the former was just selling for $99.99 a few days ago, so if you’re planning on making that fateful trip to grandmother’s house again this year, you might want a robotic gal leading the way. Need a relatively respectable DAP to shove in your next pair of gym shorts, huh? Yeah, we’ve all been there. If you happen to live on the right side of the Atlantic, Archos’ 1 Vision just might be your ticket, as the diminutive, no-frills player is now available to purchase for the tidy sum of £24.99 ($41). For those in need of a refresher, this one’s packing 4GB of internal storage, support for MP3, WMA, APE, WAV and FLAC files, compatibility with JPEG and BMP files and even an audio recording function for vocally jotting down grocery lists. There’s still no word on a US release, but we’re told this is the season for hope. Can we get a confirmation on that? Bueller?

We know it’s the N900 you’re jonesing for, but if you’re looking to let those “other guys” put Maemo 5 through the ringer while you continue to use an OS that’s been around the block, Nokia’s got two more for you to choose from starting today. Both the QWERTY-packin’ E72 ($407) and eager-to-route 5800 Navigation Edition have started to ship to America (according to the company, anyway), with the former listed as “coming soon” on Nokia’s webstore and as “in stock on December 10th” over at Amazon. The latter is available to order now for $299 sans contract, so good luck holding off for Google Maps Navigation to make this thing look dated.

Update: Seems this is the second time Nokia has stated that its E72 was available in the US, so we’d probably wait for at least another notification or two before pulling the trigger. Can’t ever be too careful!

Wait a second — a business-centric laptop… with style? Dell‘s 15.6-inch Vostro 1015, which was announced alongside the still-unavailable (in the US, anyway) Vostro 1014 and Vostro 1088 back in August, has just emerged for purchase, and the relatively attractive case and low starting price definitely has our attention. Granted, the $429 base model gets saddled with a 2.2GHz Celeron 900 processor, but $629 buys you a 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo T6670, Windows 7 Professional, 3GB of DDR2 RAM, a 320GB (5400RPM) hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner, 2 megapixel webcam, integrated WiFi, GMA 4500MHD graphics and a 6-cell battery. Anyone down for stroking their inner suit?

We heard earlier this month that Magellan was looking to one-up TomTom by outing an iPod touch / iPhone GPS car kit of its very own, but a few critical details were missing: namely, a price and a release date. Thanks to a new product listing on Amazon (capped after the break), we at least have a clue as to when this thing will be shipping stateside and for how much. If you’ll recall, this one’s compatible with the 2nd and 3rd generation iPod touch as well as the iPhone 3G and 3GS, and aside from providing a built-in speaker, charging capabilities and a noise-canceling handsfree speakerphone, it’ll also work with any navigation or location-based app — not just Magellan’s own $79.99 RoadMate program. The unfortunate part here is that Magellan has somehow managed to produce a cradle that’s actually more expensive that the ludicrously overpriced TomTom variant, but those willing to part with $129.99 can place their order now and look for a December 11th ship date.
