It’s been a month since we caught our first glimpse of the Galaxy Tab‘s Bluetooth Stylus and today, although still seemingly unofficial, it’s appeared in its first pre-order listing. Priced at £49.99 ($79) by UK online specialist Play, this capacitive stylus will facilitate handwriting recognition for those of us not served well enough by the Tab’s generally excellent soft keyboard. It’s also capable of hooking up to two Bluetooth devices at a time and has the extra intelligence thrown in to receive and reject phone calls — whether on the Tab or on your phone. It’s an intriguing piece of kit, maybe Samsung should go ahead and make it official now, eh?

Just as promised, T-Mobile has started offering its subscribers that “exclusive access” to early G2 pre-orders. There have been a couple of early hiccups with the pre-order page for that select group, but they’re being ironed out as we type and there’s also word that the rest of us unwashed Android geeks will be able to join in on October 6. One of our tipsters forwarded along a bill for his purchase showing the phone to be valued at $249.99 and an estimated delivery date of September 30. That’s quite the steep entry fee, considering Best Buy will have the phone on October 6 as well for just under $200 and Radio Shack is undercutting all with a $150 price on the typical two-year contract.

Update: Our tipster’s $250 levy is before the standard $50 mail-in rebate, making for the predictable $200 price when all’s said and done.

T-Mobile has had a longstanding tradition of giving current customers first dibs on pre-orders for hot products, and it looks like the upcoming G2 will be no exception. TmoNews has a rather telling screen shot suggesting that T-Mobile subscribers will be able to sign up for the Android-powered QWERTY slider starting tomorrow through October 4, with retail availability following a couple days later on the 6th; we’ve already had that date on lock through Best Buy Mobile, so it comes as no surprise. From what we’ve seen so far, the G2 and the Desire Z are pretty easy to fall in love with — trust us when we say the hinge mechanism is exquisite — so who’s signing up tomorrow?

Galaxy Tab? Who needs that overpriced prima donna? Here’s the tablet the economical among us have been waiting for. Alright, so the Elocity A7 didn’t elicit the highest of praise when it made its cameo on The Engadget Show, but let’s congratulate its makers on achieving a pair of feats. Firstly, StreamTV has managed to get its Froyo tablet listed for pre-order on Amazon — which is no mean feat in itself, just ask Notion Ink — and secondly, it’s done so at an even lower price point than promised, with an encouraging $370 tag. Even if you’re like us and not entirely blown away by its performance, you’ve got root for this little slate to complete the narrative and start selling — if for no other reason than that it might incite others to stoop to the same price point.

Whoa, welcome to the new decade SageTV! Nearly two full years after introducing the HD Theater HD200, the aforesaid company is hitting back with the HD Theater 300 — and frankly, the timing couldn’t possibly be worse. Last month, a $149.95 price tag on a no-name streamer may have looked attractive, but with the revised Apple TV and price-adjusted Roku line, we get the feeling this one will be a hard sell. At any rate, this new networked set-top box boasts a non-stackable design, a Toslink optical audio jack, HDMI 1.3 socket, a pair of USB jacks and an Ethernet connector. It also supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD/MA (which means you’re cleared to bitstream to your HDMI 1.3 receiver), but you’ll need to pony up an extra $29.95 for a WiFi dongle. Yeah, bummer. The outfit suggests that you turn this critter into a whole home DVR solution by running SageTV Media Center software alongside of it, but you should probably know that you’ll have some trouble if trying to shove DRM’d content through it.
