Mashed Pixel’s Surc iPhone 4 case is finally ready take on the challenge of making Apple’s slab a universal remote now that it’s on sale for a mere $74.95. That’s pricier than the RedEye Mini Dongle but cheaper than the Peel receiver, and it does pull double duty as a protector. The built in MicroUSB hookup and included cable means it can stay on even while charging before jumping into action when the companion app is opened on the phone. It can be controlled via buttons, gestures or motion control, with plenty of programmability built in. The only downside we can find is that this is definitely a goner whenever you upgrade to Steve’s next iThing, and it means leaving the sweet, potentially reception-improving case you already picked out behind.

Update: The folks at Photojojo wrote in to let us know that the $190 price provided earlier today was incorrect — the iPhone 4 mount will actually set you back a cool $249.

After what we’re guessing was a fruitful tie-up with Tron, the fine folks at Razer are back at a similar well; this time, the company’s dishing out a limited run of gear that’s been splashed with color and branding from the upcoming Michael Bay train wreck blockbuster, Transformers 3. Outside of being doused with red, yellow, silver and purple paint, the special edition DeathAdder mice ($69.99 a pop) are identical to the version already on the market. If that’s just not enough, there’s also a dual-sided Vespula mouse mat ($44.99) to commemorate the film, not to mention a foursome of colored laptop sleeves ($49.99 each) that’ll make public your infatuation. Curiously absent? A handwritten letter of congratulations from Shia LaBeouf.

Just in case you bought an iPad 2 but really needed a netbook, ClamCase is back with a redesigned version of its case / battery powered Bluetooth QWERTY keyboard combo. This one is a hair thinner and a little lighter than the previous version (reviewed here), with cutouts for the back camera and speaker grille plus integrated magnets to awaken and sleep your tablet when the case is opened or closed. The keyboard has also reportedly been refreshed for an improved feel, but even though the black version is on sale now for $149 (white ships next month) there’s still a 4-5 week wait for shipping to get a hands-on and find out for yourself. Logitech’s Keyboard Case for iPad 2 is another option for $100, but it will only protect your precious slab on one side — something to consider while you’re checking out specs.

When it comes to battery-boosting power sleeves, we’d say the iPhone’s covered, but what of the little green monster? Well, at least two Androids can now get juiced by way of a new charging case from PowerSkin. HTC’s Inspire 4G and Desire HD are getting a little extra power with the release of this black silicone skin, which promises 1500mAh and up to eight hours of added battery life. The PowerSkin will set you back $60, and is now available at Amazon and the source link below.
