It’s been awhile since we’ve heard any news from the Adamo camp, but for those looking to blow a bit of that Santa cash on something thin and light, the timing here couldn’t possibly be better. Nearly 1.5 years after the 13-inch ultraportable was let loose — for $1,999 and up, no less — a new low-cost configuration has emerged at Dell’s website. These days, $899 gets you a 0.65-inch thick machine, complete with a 13.4-inch WLED display (1366 x 768 resolution), 2.1GHz Core 2 Duo SL9600 processor, a 64-bit copy of Windows 7 Home Premium and 4GB of DDR3-800 memory. You’ll also get a 128GB SSD, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and a 40 WHr Lithium Polymer battery, and if you’re down for spending a bit more, you can grab an internal mobile broadband module as well. Or, you know, you could wait and see what kind of treasures CES brings. Your call.

It’s not exactly November, but those who pre-ordered early may still end up with a Lumix GH2 beneath their tree. The highly-anticipated GH1 followup — which was introduced back at Photokina — has officially begun to ship to end users in the US of A. The official order page shows a one to two week wait, but we’ve confirmed with Panny itself (as well as tipster Nate, the proud owner of the one above) that units are indeed trickling out as we speak. For those in need of a refresher, this Micro Four Thirds shooter packs a 16 megapixel sensor, 1080p movie mode, SDXC support and an ISO range from 160 to 12,800. Feel free to take a peek back at our hands-on from Germany, and make sure you cancel those holiday plans STAT — wouldn’t want this sitting on your doorstep for a solid week, now would you?

E-readers are flooding the market these days, and KDDI has delivered its most recent offering just in time for the holiday season. Since the biblio Leaf SP02‘s specs were first released, battery life seems to have grown to 13,000 pages, with presumably a few extra thrown in courtesy of its solar array. The device utilizes KDDI’s LISMO Book Store and its 20,000 titles to obtain content, and if that isn’t enough reading material for you, the company claims that five times as many titles will be available by 2012. All this can be had on Christmas day — if you’re lucky enough to hail from the land of the rising sun, that is.

Update: Details on the e-reader, much like the device itself, seem to have gotten lost in translation. As a few readers have pointed out — and our own Engadget Japanese editor Ittousai confirms — the SP02 has an “open” price of around ¥15,000 (about $180 in US currency), with 3G prices ranging from ¥525 per month for data on a two-year contract, or ¥1,575 without ($6.28 vs. $19, respectively).

Surely you haven’t forgotten about Clamcase! Merely 14 hours after Apple introduced the iPad, someone on Clamcase’s staff filed a patent application for the device you’re peering at above. Between then and now, a smattering of iPad keyboard cases have come to light, but quite a few folks have apparently been waiting for the original to materialize. This week, the company opened up the pre-order hotline for the device, hawking it for the not-exactly-bargain-bin price of $119. It’s available in any color you want, so long as it’s black, and if all goes well it’ll hit the shipping docks next month. It’s definitely the nicest of the bunch based on pictures alone, and it’s not like it’ll have to try awfully hard to beat the rivals that have already let us down. So, what’s it going to be? You in for one?

Let us all warmly greet the Core i5-2300, the i5-2400, and the Core i7-2600, three desktop-bound members of Intel’s upcoming Sandy Bridge CPU brigade. You’ll note that all three are fully dressed in their retail attire in an image coming from Malaysian electronics store Compuzone, which also has a full pricing and speed breakdown for these central processing units. The 3.4GHz Core i7 part costs 939RM ($301), followed by 609RM ($195) for the 3.1GHz 2400, and 585RM ($188) for the 2.8GHz 2300. It seems like Intel’s up to its old tricks again, letting some stock roll out early in distant Asian locales. At least this should mean there’ll be plenty to go around once the CES 2011 launch of these chips is out of the way.
