Sprint HTC EVO pre-orders start this month at The Shack

HTC’s EVO 4G super-speced handset seems to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. That situation looks set to change soon based on the pic above nabbed off The Shack’s internal website showing a big “coming soon” exclamation that translates to pre-orders starting “later this month.” Remember, in addition to Android 2.1, an 8 megapixel camera, and 4.3-inch 480 x 800 display backed by fierce Snapdragon silicon, the Evo also comes packing WiMAX with built-in hotspot capability. We’re still not sure if Sprint will charge for that or make it a freebie a la Verizon’s Palm Pre and Pixi offering, but we can hope.

[Thanks, Erin and David]

AMD’s six-core Phenom II X6 1055T CPU now shipping, 1090T up for pre-order

We’d been assured that AMD‘s days of missing ship dates ad naseum were over, but there’s nothing like a little action to prove that your words mean business. Just a month after unearthing clock speeds and proposed release quarters for AMD’s gaggle of six-core Phenom II X6 processors, two of ’em have already popped up on Amazon. The 2.8GHz Phenom II X6 1055T is actually shipping as we speak for $222.29, while the 3.2GHz Phenom II X6 1090T is up for pre-order at $324.65. The lower-end 2.6GHz 1035T and 3.0GHz 1075T are both nowhere to be found (yet, anyway), and the mysterious 1095T isn’t even supposed to pop up anywhere until Q4. So, who’s getting themselves a new slab of silicon? Don’t be bashful.

[Thanks, Brian]

ASUS Eee PC 1005PR up for pre-order: $400 for your own HD savvy netbook

We had a hunch that ASUS’ Eee PC 1005PR would come in at under $400, and sure enough, that’s exactly where it has landed here on US soil. A month and change after its introduction, the 10.1-inch netbook — along with its Broadcom Crystal HD chip, 1.66GHz Atom N450 CPU and 1,366 x 768 panel — is now up for pre-order at Amazon. Frankly, it’s one of the better specced machines that we’ve seen at this level, though the claimed 11 hours of battery life does feel a bit too good to be true. At any rate, you can claim your spot in line right now by parting with $399.99, but there’s still no clear word on when it’ll ship. Shouldn’t be too awfully long now, though.

Mint automatic floor cleaner up for pre-order, shipping this summer

It’s not like the automatic vacuum cleaner market could get much more crowded, but Evolution Robotics has put an interesting twist on things with its Swiffer-packin’ Mint. If you’ll recall, we saw this guy wiping up the downright disgusting floors of the Las Vegas Convention Center back in January, and now it looks as if production plans are moving along nicely. Equipped with a NorthStar positioning technology that enables it to never hit the same spot twice on the same run, this hardwood sweeper is now up for pre-order. Unfortunately, getting in line requires a non-refundable $20 deposit, but the outlay will be applied to the purchase price and will enable you to snag one of the first shipments this summer (which is significantly more awesome than waiting for it to hit retail shelves in Q4). Don’t worry — your Roomba won’t be too envious.

ASUS EeeKeyboard up for pre-order, priced at $599 in the States

Jumpin’ Jehosaphat! After well over a year of false starts, delays, teases and purported prices, ASUS’ PC-in-a-keyboard is just about ready to ship to eager Americans. If you’ll recall, we heard a few weeks back that late April would finally bring about Stateside shipments of the EeeKeyboard, and amazingly, the price seems to have remained constant with what we heard back in January. A fresh product listing over at Amazon shows off a $599 asking price, and as for specs, we’re told that it’ll roll with a 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of DDR2 memory, Windows XP Home, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, a gigabit Ethernet jack, Bluetooth 2.1, a 16GB SSD, HDMI out, integrated UWB receiver, a trio of USB 2.0 sockets and a 5-inch LED-backlit, multitouch display with an 800 x 480 resolution.Mum’s the word on a definite ship date, but hit up the source link to secure your place in line.

iPad 3G orders being processed?

We’ve had a number of reports come in that various people’s bank accounts were giving simultaneous good and bad news. First the latter: a pending charge upwards of $888 for an order you probably placed a month ago and forgot about — hope tax day didn’t wipe you out too much. The good news, should you brave that sudden financial burden, is that it emanates from Apple Computers and seems to indicate that the gang in Cupertino is, as indicated in an earlier email, on track to start delivering iPad 3Gs in late April. Got an outstanding reservation? Better check with your online money handler…

[Thanks Justin and everyone else who sent this in!]

Optoma PK201 pico projector now shipping, PK301 up for pre-order

We’re still holding out for the faraway 1080p pico projector, but for those who need a display in their pocket before 2023, Optoma‘s latest aren’t half bad options. The PK201 and PK301, both of which made their debut at CES earlier in the year, now have product pages at Amazon, with the former being listed as in stock ($299.99) and shipping this very moment. The other guy is up for pre-order at $399.99, though you’ll get an 854 x 480 resolution output with either. ‘Course, you may want to hold out for the 301 and its 50 lumens of brightness if the 201’s 20 lumens seem a little weak, but hey, the ball’s in your court now, vaquero.

iPad Camera Connection Kit finally surfaces for pre-order, still absurdly overpriced

If you’ll recall, Apple had no qualms revealing the iPad Camera Connection Kit at its ‘Latest Creation‘ event back in January, but the solution seemingly dropped from the face of the Earth shortly thereafter. Even as cases, keyboards and all sorts of other iPad accessories surfaced for pre-order, the camera kit remained nowhere to be found. Over the weekend, the $29 adapter bundle finally found a home at the outfit’s website (with a “late April” ship date), offering users a pair of dongles to support USB and SD cards. Of course, one could easily argue that the iPad should have native support for both of these widely used formats without forcing users to lug around two extra peripherals, but if that were the case, this thing just wouldn’t be an Apple, now would it?

Pre-order iPad now, wait until April 12th for delivery

Consider this a friendly public service announcement care of our friends at TUAW. Those who coveted the iPad and pre-ordered anytime before today can still apparently expect a delivery by the original April 3rd launch date. Anyone that orders a WiFi model today, however, can expect to wait a little over a week, April 12th, to get an Apple tablet of his or her own, while the 3G-equipped units are guesstimated for late April. Have patience — on the bright side, that gives more time to see apps that justify your larger-screen iPhone purchase.

JooJoo finally shipping?

Do our eyes deceive us? Can it be that JooJoo — the CrunchPad that wasn’t — has progressed from pre-order status to shipping? Sure seems that way. Two days ahead of the revised March 25th launch date we see that the JooJoo is now taking proper orders for their Ion-based $499 Atom tablet with 12.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, in the US anyway. So, did anyone get a revised delivery status?

[Thanks, Marquel G.]
