Dell has already put 3D to good effect in its high-end Alienware models, but Samsung claims the screen on its new RF712 gaming laptop will have industry-leading brightness, helping it to overcome the dimming effect of wearing 3D glasses. The 17.3-inch screen will employ the same Super Bright Plus technology that stunned us in its Series 9 laptop, but this time at a higher Full HD resolution. The stated brightness is 400-nits — as much as double what you might to expect to find in an average LCD and perhaps even enough for a LAN party outdoors in the sunshine (ok, maybe not). Other specs include a second generation quad-core Intel CPU, 2GB-worth of AMD HD6650M graphics, 750GB hard drive and USB 3.0. The RF712 will start selling in South Korea on May 2nd for ₩2.6million (about $2,400), but it could be a while before it hits international shores. Until then, we will be standing here wearing our active Bluetooth 3D glasses and looking out for a 400-nit speck on the horizon.

Look, we all kinda, sorta know that Apple will finally admit it’s springtime tomorrow and let the white iPhone 4 fly the nest. But in order to sell white iPhone 4s, you’ve got to ship them first, and one small Belgian retailer has just received its first batch of the mythical pale device and lined them up for some loving photography. Not only that, but they’re even offering to sell you either the 16GB or 32GB over on their site (which, mind you, we can’t vouch for!), though they can only ship within the Benelux region. Laptop makers seem to enjoy making our lives difficult by sneaking “buy now” labels onto their latest products and Lenovo has kept up that tradition by making its 12.5-inch ThinkPad X220 available without telling anyone. It’s now ready to purchase at the company’s online store, starting at $849 with a Core i3-2310M processor, and its convertible tablet sibling, the X220T, is also eager to be snatched up, though its starting price is $1,249 with the same CPU on board. Eight business days will be required for delivery to reach you, but we’d wait a whole lot longer than that for the gorgeous IPS display and extreme battery life on offer. Sadly, you can’t upgrade beyond the 1366 x 768 resolution nor away from the Intel HD Graphics 3000 “option,” but then we hear that PowerPoint presentations should be blindingly fast on these machines anyhow. As you might recall, we weren’t exactly head over heels for eFun’s new line of tablets when we got our hands on the things at CES. Well, we’ve yet to see much of the sluggish Next4, but both the Next5 and Next6 have quietly made their way to market. Like we said before, the Next6 is more of an e-reader than a tablet, and the same goes for its sibling. Both sport Android 2.1, 7-inch LCD touchscreens, 800 x 480 displays, and WiFi connectivity — the Next6 sports 4GB of memory, while the Next5 offers 2GB and a 600MHz dual-core processor, based on the ARM926EJ. We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again, the best thing about these slabs is probably the price: the Next5 rings in at $200 and the Next6 at $230. But feel free to judge for yourself — both are currently in stock at the source link below.
