MSI’s GT660 has been kicking around in various forms for a few months now, but the latest edition (dubbed GT660R) is just now splashing down on a few e-tailer websites. Boasting a 1.73GHz Core i7-740QM processor, 6GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive (7,200RPM), Blu-ray combo drive and NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 285M, this 16-inch beast is more than capable of handling whatever HD media and first-person shooters you’ve got sitting around. ‘Course, you’ll need to be fully prepared to lug around 7.7 pounds of heft, and the 1,366 x 768 resolution is far from ideal, but at least you’re given a 64-bit copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. It’s up for order now at $1,699.99, but unless you’ve got a thing for atypically large pixels, we’d suggest springing for an alternative that’ll display 1080p natively.

Timely, no? In concert with its HSPA+ expansion, T-Mobile USA has decided to come clean with that webConnect Rocket 2.0 that we peeked a few weeks ago courtesy of a leaked presentation slide. Said device isn’t drastically different than the original, offering a mildly overhauled design and “a new rotating swivel USB form factor.” The bigger news is the expanded platform support, with this bugger now playing nice with Windows 7, XP, Vista and any version of OS X since 10.4. It’s up for grabs right now via the source link if you’re in the mood for those so-called “4G speeds,” with an on-contract stick costing absolutely nothing and a no-strings-attached version running $199.99.

Update: We’ve updated the post with a new image of the actual device, though it’s not quite ready for primetime on T-Mobile’s site just yet. When it hits, it’ll run $49.99 on contract, with the 1.0 version going for zilch on contract.

Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together? Or when a rumor plays out perfectly? We’re looking at a case of the latter here today, as HP‘s oh-so-lovable 12-inch TouchSmart tm2 is now available to order with a Core i5 processor. Just months after gaining Core i3 support, the convertible tablet can now be ordered with a 1.2GHz Core i5-430UM (capable of hitting 1.73GHz with Turbo Boost). Said CPU can be paired with integrated Intel graphics or with a discrete ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450, and 4GB of DDR3 RAM is standard on either configuration. Hit the links below to investigate further, but be sure to keep your plastic far, far away unless you’re kosher with impulse buys of a rather significant caliber.

A solid four months after first seeing thing plastered across half of Las Vegas, Motorola’s i1 finally has a date with Sprint. The planet’s first Android-equipped smartphone with Nextel Direct Connect will go nationwide on July 25th (via telesales and websites; all other Sprint channels will see it on August 8th), bringing military spec ruggedness, push-to-talk capabilities and a certain ability to withstand all sorts of death grips. Unfortunately, Android 1.5 is a bit of a dinosaur at this point, but it’s still a heck of a lot better than that G’zOne Rock you’re currently toting. Get ready — you’ve got just under a week to scrounge up $149.99 and the nerve to sign another two-year contract.

We’ve all waited close to two years for this day to come, and now that it has, just a single question remains: “Does your credit card have the space?” Sigma’s SD15 — which is outfitted with a 14 megapixel Foveon X3 sensor, 3-inch LCD, True II processor, an ISO range from 50 to 3,200 extended) and support for SD / SDHC cards — is now available to order on American soil. Better still, both B&H Photo and Adorama show the beast as “in stock” for just under a grand ($989, if we’re counting), and the fine folks over at Akihabara News have managed to wrangle one for a glorious unboxing.
