Philips may be dodging the North American sector with its flashiest of products, but it’s still showing the Yanks in attendance a little love on the home entertainment front. Today in a meeting in NYC, the outfit revealed US pricing and availability for its entire 2009 family, most of which was quietly introduced in January. Starting things off are the 6000 and 7000 Series of HDTVs, which just so happen to pick right up where the previous models left off in 2008. The 6000 Series will arrive in 32-, 42- and 47-inch flavors for $799, $1,399 and $1,699, respectively, while the 7000 Series goes 42-, 47- and 52-inch for $1,499, $1,799 and $2,299, also respectively.

While checking these very sets out, we noticed that the factory settings left the colors a bit blown out and overly sharp — though, this practice is far too common in HDTV companies anyway. Nothing like wowing those Best Buy shoppers at first, only to sear their retinas at home, right? All kidding aside, the panels looked superb, and the A-B comparison mode made tweaking the settings a breeze. Ah, ha! So the rumors were true. Just a day after we heard that RIM’s BlackBerry Curve 8900 would be making its way from T-Mobile over to AT&T comes this — official confirmation from the carrier itself. Loaded with WiFi, GPS and a 480 x 360 resolution display, this ‘Berry includes free AT&T WiFi at over 20,000 hotspots (with an unlimited data plan, ironically enough) and a 3.2 megapixel camera. There’s also a microSD / SDHC slot that supports cards up to 16GB in size, and while AT&T’s not being very forthcoming with pricing (as in, there’s no word given at all), loyal customers can expect it to land sometime in “early summer.” In other words, all this release has done is extinguish the rumor fires — ‘preciate it, Ma Bell.

We’re beginning to wonder if we’ll ever see RIM’s BlackBerry Curve 8900 hit the AT&T airwaves, but considering just how long it takes for a phone to navigate through the carrier’s absurdly long certification process, we’ll chalk this one up to technical delays. After spotting the so-called Javelin in AT&T attire way back in November of last year, Boy Genius Report now has it on authority that the handset will finally debut next month. Unfortunately for those hoping for a little bonus in exchange for their patience, it’s said to be “a mirror” of the T-Mobile version outside of the bundled Bold themes. Pricing details are still under wraps, but if you’ve waited this long, do the dollars really matter?

Oh sure, you could already get your paws around the Archos 2 flash-based PMP if you really, really wanted to, but we’re still thrilled to see the company come clean and begin offering it up on its own website. As of now, prospective buyers in the United States of America can “soon” select the 8GB version in black or white for $59.99, while the 16GB model arrives in the same color options for $40 more. In related news, ArchosLounge has shots of a new blue model, though there’s obviously no way to procure that bad boy just yet. Then again, there’s always Colorware…

Oh, goodie goodie! Merely ten days after the D5000 was formally introduced to the world — and just hours after Amazon’s pre-order page went live — we’re now being told that Nikon’s first DSLR with an articulating display will be shipping in three short days. Starting on April 27th, the cam will begin making its way out to those who pulled the trigger early on… at least in kit form. We don’t expect the body-only configuration to leave the docks for at least a week or so later, but you can rest assured we’ll be giving one a go and letting you know if it’s worth the cheddar.
